Stimulants, the jumper cables to exercising

I recently felt the need (after hibernating all winter with COD:Black Ops) to start exercising.

I have a slew of different ADHD medications prescribed but i can tell adderal helps me out the most in the endurance/motivation department. Im supplementing MAG, CALC, C, B, Potassium and eating healthy.

I want to hear other peoples experiences with excersize and stimulants.

Any words of caution?
 
Many people have had heart attacks and dropped dead while exercising on stimulants. It is NOT safe at all. Do it the normal way and motivate yourself.
You're playing with fire if you decide to do this, except the fire is located 1 metre away from a tonne of explosives.

Yeah, exercise is contraindicated with stimulants, as they both raise heart rate and blood pressure, which can result in heart attack or stroke. Baseballer Steve Bechler died on the field after taking ephedra on a hot day, and a cyclist (I forget his name) died in the middle of a bike race while dosed on amphetamine. I'm sure there are many similar stories besides these.

If you do decide to exercise on stims (please don't), drink extra water and take breaks to cool off. Stims also raise body temperature and can cause hyperthermia/dehydration when exercising, so take that into account.
 
I use stims to exersize but I dont go overboard. Have you tried just using guarana or something? I am looking at getting some slimcut pills as they have gaurana in them rather then using dexies (which I am legally prescribed)
 
@Methox - Xbox, i have a love hate relatotionship with call of duty
@Delta - i dont take a supplement specifically for potassium, however it is in my multivit/fiber powder stuff and i eat 1-2 bananas a day for the magneseum.

It just feels so much easier and i feel so much better about myself and the distance i have gone/work put out when im on my meds. im not killing myself, but im just excersizing. like cardio for 20 mins, pushups, leg lifts, jumping jacks, sit ups. not XTREME bench pressing or anything that would give me a hernia with or with out my meds
 
Cut all those supps. Add a quility D3/K2, and a quality omega 3 source.

Analze your diet to see what nutritional gaps need to be fillen in(Run a google searc for CRON-OMeter, it's a great program that will dififinte;y help minimize those unnecessary supplelemnts/

thanks man, thats exactly what i was lookin for. i had no idea what i was missing out on, so i just wanted to go alittle overkill to fill in the gaps.
 
There's heaps of pre-workout energizer supplements in the bodybuilding market. They are usually loaded with obscene amounts of caffeine. The really dodgy ones sometimes have research chems like DMAA in them, labeled as something like - "proprietary energy matrix" - registering these "proprietary blends" means they dont have to declare what the chemical actually is.

All in all very bad. Not just for the heart, but for your whole body. Take it me, a gym junkie with a D-5 dexie script, using stimulants over a long period of time is totally counter-productive, your body simply cannot take the increased nor-epinephrine & cortisol levels. You take longer to recover, your muscles are constantly tense and eventually fatigue leading to postural imbalances and potential injury.

If anything i prefer weed before working out, it distorts your normal neuromuscular communication pathways allowing you to feel muscles that you wouldnt normally be able to. I like to get introspective and try and feel all my muscles working in perfect harmony...when you get it right it is one of the most amazing highs out there.
 
So instead of railing an addy i should smoke a blunt...interesting, but i like it!

Yeah, i was skeptical at first, I mean it sounds totally stupid to smoke up before lifting, but once i tried it my whole perspective was changed. Hitting the gym isn't just about lifting weights, its about lifting them correctly....Smoking a bit of weed before hand allows you to feel the muscles that arent working properly cos you're brain can't ignore the signals like it normally would when you're straight.

Just make sure you don't sit on the couch in between having a cone and hitting the gym...You'll never make it out of the house :)
