Stimulants Stimulants make me lass social?

Why is it that when I do amphetamine based/type stimulants like dextroamphetamine or methlyphenidate, I dont become more social like most, but instead less social? Generally I wont talk at all, I'll generally just be hyper-focused on pretty much any subject given to me.
 
well, methylphenidate doesn't really give much euphoria, just stimulation, but I get euphoria from dex, and I still generally don't talk much. I also don't ever laugh because I don't find anything funny, I'm always very serious.
 
Stimulants increase feelings of anxiousness which can attribute to your lack of sociability.
 
mdma makes anyone talk a lot, because it's not just a stimulant, its an empathogen. but stims make me just wanna stare at shit until the euphoria goes away, and then i redose. everything except coke (my stim of choice)
 
But... speed also releases serotonin (like mdma). So, wouldn't that make people talk more?

Drugs do not work that way. It's the ratio of neurotransmitters effected that determine whether a stimulant will be pleasurable or cause anxiety.

Things like Dextroamphetamine and methylphenidate are effective for concentration while holding less addictive value as they impact the reward system less effectively than Methamphetamine or MDMA.

Recreational drugs like meth or MDMA release more serotonin and dopamine, in contrast to their stimulant side effects such as anxiety and hypertension.

Dextroamphetamine's serotonin effects are much weaker than mdma or meth's.
 
It depends on what stimulant. Powder cocaine makes me social, while crack cocaine makes me unsociable.

Amphetamines make me social initially, but as I come down I become less social (but not as bad as crack cocaine). However, when I use amphetamines (including methamphetamine) and start doing something (ie. writing online, reading, just about anything) I get very, very focused on it and it is very difficult to get me to let loose of what I am doing. I almost become obsessive. When I get like that, I become unsociable.

Good chance it's this. Plus, everyone is just different and different people respond very differently to the exact same substances. ON the upside, a lot worse things could have happened, right?
 
If I take a lower dose of stimulants I get tired, whilst a friend would've taken a little bit more and would be chatting to me for like 4 hours. I'd be laying down in a tranquil state of calm, and he'd be constant "ra ra ra ra ra rarararar" etc. I just don't feel teh need to talk.

^This. i was dosing everyday on dex and days 1-3 were GREAT. worked like 10 hrs straight at the office each day, happy, energetic, everything was amazing. day 4-5, more agitated and annoyed and didnt wanna speak, day 6, i was like a anti-social person. didnt speak to know one, not eye contact. just felt like blahhhh.

i think you have to find the right dose that will work for you.
 
ive only taken adderal and ephedrine but they dont make me more social tbh..well, if i see a female i will be more driven to speak to her because of increased sex drive but as far as making me want to seek people out to talk to them, nope..if anything, stims make me more content with being introverted..
 
High dose crystal methamphetamine causes me to go into one of several modes.

Mode One usually with a good, solid, moderate dose: Hyperactive, Productive, Talkative, Sociable, Clean your house, wash your car, highly sexual/have promiscuous sex for hours and hours and hours until the costco-sized bottle of lube runs out, fix things that aren't broken.

Mode Two usually with higher dosing: Anti-social, Paranoid, Introverted, watch/download porn, lazy, binge eating, mildly sociopathic, usually this all results in major anxiety/paranoia so I take a very strong benzodiazepine.

Mode Three with VERY high dosing: majorly sociopathic, kleptomaniac, delusional (think I'm invincible) start shit with people who "look at me wrong", get violent and end up getting taser'd or thorazined, usually both in that order, at an embarrassing and extremely public place, like the food court at your local mall. Because at this point, benzodiazepines probably could not slow me down, and would only further skew my judgement, potent anti-psychotics are a MUST. I recommend that EVERYONE have access to an antipsychotic of some kind prior to binging on methamphetamine.
