Do drug patches still effect the metabolism and that sort of stuff?,

So say you could take a drug by pill or a drug by patch. What would the Patch not effect (regarding the +'s)

Why would nicotine be the only one? There is a lot of chemicals that can be absorbed through the skin. Fentanyl and LSD comes to mind.
