Stimulants Stimulants and hemorrhoids - any words of wisdom, can anyone relate? :(

Hey all. SO, I've been taking phendimetrazine (prescribed) for weight loss. It's working very well, I continue my 4x weekly workouts, my diet is high in fiber and I drink lots of water all day long. I have developed painful hemorrhoids. It's getting to the point where over the counter medications aren't working at all. Anyone know exactly why this stim would be doing this to me? Is it common with other stims like amphets? Any advice, commiseration, I'll even take sarcastic jabs. Just any ideas on what I might try to mitigate these unwanted, enraged asshole veins.

If your constipated, try looking into buying a lactulose solution. Much like you I've tried everything for that issue, and for me lactulose is the gold standard.

As far as amphetamines causing it, personally, they make me evacuate rather than get constipated.

Less serious side effects of phendimetrazine may include:

feeling restless or hyperactive;
headache, dizziness, tremors;
sleep problems (insomnia);
flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling);
dry mouth;
diarrhea or constipation, upset stomach; or
increased or decreased interest in sex, impotence.

yeah stimulants usually make me poo right away. I got hemorrhoids from opiates really bad once, the best thing i could do was to use less and take magnesium citrate daily. That could help you as well, it made it manageable for me on opiates so it should do some good on a stimulant.

Thanks for those ideas. I think part of the deal is I am consuming less food, so the poop there is doesn't have the bulk, even with added fibre. I wouldn't say I'm constipated its more like just....not enough to work with. When it comes out it comes out fine, loose even many times. I'm wondering if its not the stress the drug is causing on my body just reacting like that. Any thoughts?

As unpleasant as hemorrhoids can be, I'm sure it beats having genital warts.

Ouch...just ouch.:-D why is such a uncomfortable condition so amusing when it happens to somone else? Enraged asshole veins... That cracked me up.lol seriously though, try to eat some more grain-like foods or veg, it will bulk up your stools really well but wont adversely affect your dieting. Also before you go toilet apply a little vasoline to the affected area and that should help a bit the stop the veins getting further enraged. However if the hemoirroids are more internal then you might have to drop your pants for your doctor....
