anybody else have this issue? when i do meth i can only really dose once, as it constricts shut my stomach or something to that effect, completely stops my digestion and my bowel stops working lol. its very harsh with meth but it can happen if i drink an energy drink as well.

It each I have this problem. When I've used crack I find that it's like a bad case of IBs. My stomach starts to gurgle but really loudly and I have the most awful Pai, just like having a bowel full of wind. The pain it causes is the worst though.

What a PITA...

The human brain has a hard time balancing the effects of meth. Most people's CNS and SNS, go "tilt" in the smallest amounts.

Only certain people are built for it, the rest only need it when they have to fight Navy Seals and the Delta Force in trench warfare.

No fear of cannon balls, atomic bombs, running out of food, fighting their way back from beyond enemy lines.

its odd i find it such a primary issue with using stims but nobody mentions it. i know i'd for sure die in like a week if i used it like that. i got a hunch its a potassium issue so i'm gonna preload myself with bananas before next rail

Yep, it wasn't like this when I was younger. To be honest it was more the opposite effect, I'd have a bowel movement during or after the session. These days amphetamine use will completely shutdown my bowels for like 2-3 days.

Makes using it not worth it tbh.

This has been my main reason I think, for my using white less and less nowadays. My age, and the health related issues that seem to have come with it makes using something I will do maybe once every couple of weeks now.

I'm not saying my health would have been any better had I not used any drugs in the past as a lot of people I know who never used and still ended up with quite serious health problems, are quite prevalent.

Having said that I've found that the crappy quality of crack, in the UK today it's quite fucking boring doing it too often. That high that I used to get is no longer there when used too often. Now I find it more enjoyable just using occasionally.

The quality, from when I first started using has definitely gone down, the potency I mean. I can't get out nowadays to source the product, which I would have in the past. And if you can't get some decent coke to wash up then you're fucked anyways, yeah?

PS. I just noticed you mentioned potassium. On my last 2 admissions to hospital I was put on a potassium drip and sent home with those dissolve in water potassium tablets. I really need to look into this more thoroughly. Thanks for that.

I have to say my gastric problem seems to be easing. I had a couple of pipes yesterday and it hasn't made the problem any worse today.

All I'm left with today is that devious little crack maggot worming it's way around my brain. By tomorrow the maggot will be gone. Just one day, that's all I need to get over it.

mines eased but still present, much easier with more hydration and potassium, although still present its not swelling up to feel like i have a boulder inside me.

Never touched meth but Dex and elvanse both kill my appetite and make me poop for Britain at the same time. I think that's normal.
I think when you're body is in good health a stimulant like meth, regular amphetamine or cocaine should move your bowels. My bowels just haven't been the same since having a serious opioid habit a few times over the last years. Although I had (minor) problems before too.

It's strange how over the years certain drugs can have seemingly the opposite effect that they had when you were younger. Atleast that has been my experience with quite a few drugs.

Perhaps I'm just unhealthy these days... certainly feels like that sometimes. I'm trying my best to get better though.

my guess is vasoconstriction and the sympathetic nervous system, less blood flow to the gut leading to slow digestion and the sympathetic nervous system can shut down digestion

this is also dose and tolerance dependent, stimulants also stimulate the bowel muscles as others have noted

I can see how meth and crack can cause long lasting health issues. Same with opioids. The drugs change us in so many ways.

I have had a few senior pharmacists explain that as we get older our body go through changes. They stated as an example, a patient can have a huge tolerance to opioids throughout their whole life by taking a large daily dosage. At some point once patients reach a certain old age, the opioids have an opposite effect all of a sudden becoming stronger and risky towards health. I wasn't obviously trying to hear this nor accept that to be my fate. However, it does make a little sense if we are talking about getting into the ages of 65-70.

In the upper years our bodies really lose strength in many different ways and what was once a thing is a thing no more. I have been on Rx opiates & opioids for going on 38 years now. I seriously doubt I will experience life without them regardless of pain levels. My doctor and I believe my brain will not return to normal and I will be stuck in a endless PAWS mind frame and the depression & not being able to produce dopamine along with other brain chemicals can spiral into a rapid decline of motor function with CNS issues. Parkinson's disease is a strong possibility because of the dopamine issues as it runs in my family. My grandfather died from Parkinson's.

So Opioids still work good for you after 38 years? They even became more effective in your older age now?

they still work good enough to get a good percentage of benefits. IMO, they are the only option for chronic pain syndrome. PO (orally) the only ones that work for me are Roxicodone 30mg IR and Methadone 10mg IR. The only other (PO) medication I like are Morphine 200mg ER/SR. However, I am not a big fan of controlled release because the blood plasma levels end up being lower when compared to instant release taken every 3-4hrs.

The rest that are considered stronger only have an effect if they are in IV. I have already exhausted trying to take (PO) Morphine, Hydromorphone, ans Oxymorphone, their PO bioavailability is too low.

About getting older and the opioids being stronger, I was just sharing something that was shared with me. Their point was when are bodies decline in age, the CNS, Alpha2, Sedative/Hypnotic, and Benzo medications hit differently.
