Hi,

I'm posting this here even though it concerns both cocaine & a psychedelic, but I figure this is probably the place where most people will know how to answer.

I've been usnig a lot of (IV) coke and (oral) aMT (which is a psychedelic with strong stimulant properties fyi) these past few weeks/months, and these past few days my heart has really been acting out. I went on a bit of a coke binge early last week and didn't notice anything abnormal once I finished but I took aMT saturday night and during the comedown, experienced an inability to breathe, very tight heart/chest, ridiculously excessive sweating, fainting, and my eyes were kind of moving on their own. This was on a lower dose than usual and I've never had anything even remotely similar on comedowns. The thing that really worries me is that it hasn't gotten better since, over 24 hours later - I walked up 5 steps earlier this morning and had to stop to breathe because my chest was so compressed. Drug use aside I'm in good shape and I've never had these kinds of problems before. Even now while I'm just sitting at a desk I'm having trouble breathing, and I don't have any drugs in my system right now.

Anyone had this before? Is this something that can happen due to overusing stims for a while? I realise it's time for a break, but is this something I should be worried about/ get checked out?

Cheers.

I'd go to the hospital if that happened to me, is just doing nothing and hoping it will be ok it really worth the risk? Sorry I can't offer any further advice.

Im not that knowledgable on drugs but it definitely seems like you should go see a doctor

However this could be a type of panic attack/anxiety. I have experienced similar feelings before I think and I had no idea what it was. I thought I had some kind of heart problems but it turns out it was just from anxiety/panic attacks. Actually once I realized this they have pretty much gone.

It could be many other things and if I were you I would get it checked out by a doctor just for my own peace of mind

I know this will only make you more anxious, but my friend is in a coma from a brain aneurism from shooting coke, he was young and healthy. If you really think you are having problems and its not just manifesting from the drugs, I would go to the hospital man

Deffo stop shooting coke.

I can't talk but it's definitely something you wanna stop doing.
If only for your mental health.

I had to stop a week or two ago because it makes me so depressed I wake up in tears.
Good luck Miss Pagey. <3

I have similar symptoms from abusing psychedelic phenethylamines... sometimes I'll get a massive HR increase (like it almost triples) from trying to (force a) shit.

and from plenty of other things also, I haven't did any real running in awhile so I should try that to see how I feel.

When someone basically says, I've been using a lot of IV coke and AMT the past few months and my heart hurts and I'm stressing out. Has this ever happened to anyone? You need to stop using and do what your body is telling you

Pretty much this.

No one here is a doctor. We are not going to diagnose you. Your best bet is to either:

A) Seek an ER if you feel you can not wait... or B) Make an appointment with a doctor to get an EKG done to test your heart.

It could all be anxiety. That's what stimulants do, I've learned that personally. But always test for real problems first, ones that could result in death.

I recently went to the hospital for the same symptoms and I was told it was a panic attack. Which I thought was strange bc I had no mental anxiety but it is very possible to get. physical panic attacks without mental anxiety. I felt like I wansnt getting enough oxygen, I had upper right rib chest pain, palpitations and major sweating. This slowly got worse day after day until a week later when i couldn't catch my breath from the night before until i went to the hospital and they gave me iv lorazepam which brought complete relief of all symptoms. I was using apvp and vaping it but I also cold turkey'd my remeron a couple weeks back which was most likely the cause. With that being said while it probably is anxiety, the symptoms of a panic attack resemble so many major health concerns that if you are getting these symptoms after using a powerful stimulant like cocaine go to the hospital. Having something serious like a pulmonary edema c could cause a stroke if left untreated and id almost rather be dead than end up a vegetable from a stroke. ALWAYS better safe than sorry; not to mention you will get some sort of benzo to make you feel better even if it is just a panic attack. Also cut back on the coke it is absolutely terrible on your cardiovascular system if used often.

Thanks very much everyone, I really appreciate it. I'm definitely gonna take a break from all stims for quite a while, I'm feeling a little better today but if it's still like this by the end of the week I'll definitely go see a doctor.

That's exactly what it's like - a really intense physical panic attack, but without it bothering me psychologically, which really is extremely weird. I've been taking a ton of xanax but it literally hasn't changed a thing...anyway yeah as stated I'll see how I am in the next couple of days since it seems to be getting a little better but otherwise I'll go to the ER towards the end of the week.

The combination is similar to a MDMA + Coke - combo regarding the risks. Triple reuptake inhibitor + triple releaser taken together are quite draining on the CNS (sorry to repeat the tape). Also I would back away from taking just AMT regularly as it potentially could be a potent 5-HT2b agonist. I would urge you to get tested (does not have to be in the ER), cause not every physical symptom correlated with stimulant use is caused by a panic attack. Maybe it is nothing severe, but better be sure, if something is wrong and acting appropriately. Good, that you have benzos. I wish you all the best.

Could be anxiety. I did a half gram of coke and 200mgs of MDMA about a week and a half ago and during the comedown started having awful chest pain. Through out the following week it kept feeling like it was getting worse, and the pain was making my left arm hurt, my jaw hurt, I was getting outta breathe quickly, I began feeling dizzy all the time. Finally about 6 days later I thought I was gonna pass out from dizziness + awful chest pain so I went to the ER. EKG , normal. Blood tests, normal.

The mind is powerful man, I was 100% sure I was having severe angina leading up to a heart attack. The cardiologist even saw me, gave me a check up, checked the ekgs and said it all was 100% normal and healthy.

I didn't tell them it started after a coke and m mini binge but either way since then I've still had some chest pain but it already feels like it's going away now.

I was so sure when I went to the ER that 50% of my heart was already dead lol.

All I ever get when I do stimulants is physical anxiety on comedowns honestly. I never have mental anxiety. My anxiety is completely physical, regardless of drugs. But I do know for sure it is anxiety.

^^^^^ This exactly! I have the same physical anxiety on the come downs and on higher dosages due the sobering up towards the end that makes you more aware of the heart rate and that something isnt quite right, where as you may not feel these things when you are at the peak.

The mental anxiety can be there abit IMO, but nothing that bad really. I suppose that could contribute very slightly but i think its just your body freaking out abit after this big binge. If you have any benzos try a small dose of them and see how it goes, if not a visit to the hospital would be best on the safe side.

Good luck Pagey =D

you sure your coke was clean, not cut with amps, ice, mdpv? Im sure it would be not as hard on your heart if you had other stim cut clean coke. Altough ive never Ived coke, only snorted HCL and smoked freebase

i read this as "feeling faint" first time over

fainting is pretty severe. I've never I'v'd coke or messed with aMT, so I have no idea if that comes with the territory, but I would treat that as a really serious effect. Serious enough to stop using.
Panic attacks are one thing, but actually fainting and stuff is another level.

Would alpha blockers be helpful in a case like this? I'm thinking so.

NO, it would complicate the problem...

Most stimulants are full alpha and beta agonist... If you block beta you are left with all severe alpha agonistic effects.

Blood pressure will be crazy as shit.

all the above OP's symptoms can come just from high blood pressure as well but either way its an indicator that its time to slow down on the the stims...
