so ive shot oxy a few times. wont do it again cuz i dont want pill binder getting into my system & its not much better than oral use anyways...

I used a spoon after a mate used the same spoon with a re-used needle of his.
its not the spoon he usually uses which is good cuz ive read that hepatitis can only stay alive outside the body for upto 4 days so theres a good chance he hadnt used it for that long.

anyways before I used it he put the spoon in boiling water for 6 mins.
my mate got tested & thankfully he doesnt have hep c but the test might have been done ages ago & he might have it now.

So basically im worried i may have got hep. it was a stupid idea to use the same spoon i know. but i thought him boiling it would kill the hep. I didnt know & I later read on the internet its not that easy to kill.

I think someone on BL here said boiling for 15 mins. but that was just one person comment.
i got tested for hep B & C & im fine but the window period wasnt considered.

I think the window period is 6-10 weeks. I got the test done at 8 weeks so theres a slight chance i might have it.

but im just wondering if u can boil a spoon long enough to kill hep & how long for?

my mate uses a spoon on top of the spoon he puts the oxy on to crush it. Im also curious if i was to eat out of that spoon whether i could get hep. Can eating hep give u the illness or is it only passed blood to blood?

my mum gave me a razor to use to shave. it was her b/fs. I told her im not using that incase it has his blood on it. cuz now im all paranoid about stuff like that now. how long would u need to boil a razer or toothbrush to kill hep.

thanks for any advice. it's unlikely i have it. im just wondering how long u have to keep a spoon or whatever in boiling water before it kills hep. even more specifically hep c

I'll always bring my own spoons next but i thought boiling it for 6 mins would kill it for sure. now i know the risk i took. im not more educated & it wont happen again. it was just a mistake cuz i was over at my mates & i didnt have my own spoon.

For proper heat sterilisation (medical standard) an autoclave at >120 degrees C for 15 minutes is needed.. 6 mins in boiling water would obviously reduce the number of viable microorganisms on the spoon but it is definitely not good enough for proper sterilisation - the only safe thing is to use your own equipment and never share. Ideally buy some sterile cookers or stericups.

Hep C virus can last for a while outside the body depending on the conditions.. certainly a few days or longer is possible in good conditions, a day or so in a syringe (source). It could be transmitted in your mouth if you had a cut in there - not likely but possible.

Did you tell the people who did the test when the possible exposure happened? It's true that there can be a latent period but they should have discussed this with you.. best thing is to get tested again, and make sure you are always sterile if you inject. It's good that you've stopped shooting oxy - as you say shooting pills is not safe. If you ever do you need to use a micron filter.

Good luck!

Never share equipment. I have Hep c genotype 1a and am currently in treatment therapy for it. Treatment includes weekly injections (chemotherapy) and some nasty pills that make you feel like shit 24/7 . It's not fun, it's NOT worth it. Take an extra few minutes to make sure you are using clean equipment PLEASE .

You can use a pressure cooker witht he 15psi weight on it. Pressure cook for 30 minutes and that will accomplish what a medical autoclav does.

By definition it's impossible to sterilize by boiling.

It's so incredibly easy to just use you own spoon... why wouldn't you just ..use your own spoon? Ha. You're making it more complicated than it is... everyone brings there own gear and that's that. No need for boiling shit and whatever else. Use your own equipment.

Lol for real.. I just bring my own lil kit, a cooker which is like a coke bottle cap but its aluminum and no threads or knurls, its from the exchange, I bring a water, some cottons, i wear a belt, and some pins. Fuck trusting other people. he mighit say some shits clean when really your gettin aids

I know all this now to bring my own spoon. so last time i bought my own spoon. but when i thought i my have been exposed quite a while ago i didnt even think that hep could be on a spoon if it had been washed (Like i said the next time after that i got my own spoon cuz i read some stuff here on BL, but what's done is done). I wasnt even told had used that spoon before. he later said he had but i rarely used it. If effie is right about it only staying alive in a needle for a day. (i'll read the source now) than i'll be fine for sure.

my mate says he HAD hep C but got treatment & doesnt have it anymore. so he cant pass it on to me anyway cuz he doesnt have it. i asked the name of his treatment. looked it up on the net & it says it can be cured. (he had hep c) & the net said once its cured u cant pass it on. i can try to find the link again but to my surprize hep C IS COMPLETELY CURABLE

im just worried when i go to his house sometimes cuz I once of his spoons to eat some rice one time. it could have been one he used to crush the oxy on another spoon.

so if u eat off a spoon that has hep on it u cant catch it right?
unless u have a cut in ya mouth or something?

Swain said u cant sterilize by boiling. why did u say that swain?
If u can kill hep by boiling than how long do u need to boil it for?
CAN SOMEONE FIND A SOURCE SO I CAN HAVE PEACE OF MIND!

ofcourse im always going to use my own spoon now but i didnt know he had used the spoon I used before. I told me later on he hadnt used it for a while & he boiled it for 6 mins. I think the incubation period for hep c is 6-10 weeks. I got tested at 8 weeks.

im 99% sure i dont have it because
a) he rarely used the spoon (so he says although he MIGHT have used it the day before but it's a long shot) so he wouldnt have used it for a long time
b) he boiled it for 6 mins
c) he said his hep C has been cured but that doesnt mean he hasnt caught it again.
d) I got tested & i was clear & it was straight in the middle of the average incubation peroid

is hep c curable, or is my research wrong?
i found a source on the net saying it is curable with meds. it said the same med he used & it said once its cured it cant be passed on to someone else anymore.
i'll try to find a source but just google "is hepatitis C curable"
I always thought it wasnt but apparently it is!

anyways say im out & about. not at home & i get called over to do some oxy which is the drug Ive IVed the most & I dont have any equipment. no I'll change that. What if I get invited around to do some h. just because i dont have my own spoon it sure would feel like a waste if i was just to snort it. My friend may not know what spoon out of his draw his used to crush an oxy down on one of his spoons his drawed back on with a re-used needle.

if im ever in doubt it would be good to know if its possible to put it in boiling water for a while. Its rare this situation would ever come up. im just interested. maybe i brought over a spoon & got em mixed up I dunno. unexpected things happen sometimes.

im actually paranoid to have anything to eat over at his place. while ive been at his house and had a 0.1g of meth one time I remember drinking a few cups of tea. maybe they had been used.
but apparently u cant catch it by eating from a spoon that has hep on it right?
Should I use my own spoon if i wanna eat some soup or make a cup of tea or coffee incase his used that spoon before to crush an oxy?

I read that link effie. could u quote the part about hep only lasting a day or so in the needle? it seems it only says a day or so for HIV
