using chrome on my imac.
from a search, i entered a thread and made a quickpost. after the post i clicked back on my browser to get back to the search results, but got stuck with a warning saying info will be lost if i leave and i could either stay or leave the page. no matter which i selected nor how many times, the same pop up would repeat.

had to force quit

That'll happen to me randomly on pages. I'm using FF4 on Win7. But it doesn't happen all the time when im browsing the site. Just on random pages. I can hit the back button on pages and it wont happen, but sometimes it does.

odd

It happens to me using both firefox and internet explorer on windows vista. It is quite annoying.

This particular error has to do with the new editor/reply box on vBulletin. When you click "back" it tries to go back before you made the changes in the box rather than just to the previous page, resulting in the error.

So long as your post is actually made, clicking "leave page" won't do any harm but it is a bit of annoyance given how the editor worked previously. The redesign of the reply box has been one of the most controversial changes to vB and in all likelihood its just something we'll have to get used to.

"leave page" didn't work, nor did the stay button. that's the problem.

Read: rage quit.

:D

The text editor pop-up is as dom described. It's appears to be a feature of autosave (if text has changed since the last autosave, it pops-up).

I cannot, however, replicate your specific error using FF on Win 7.

Steps:
  • Perform search
  • Select thread from search and open in same window/tab
  • Post quick reply with no quoting
  • Press back button on browser
  • ... then you get irritating pop-up - I get nothing???

I've edited the thread title to reflect your specific problem.
