I'm kicking my own ass for not checking back with this thread- things have been busy here... CONGRATULATIONS! Great work!!! And now, more work, eh?

My Girl started sleeping through the night at around 6 months. Now at 15 months, she goes to bed at 7:00 and wakes up at 6:30. I never thought 6:30 would seem like sleeping in. We got the go ahead from the pediatrician to start her on rice cereal around 7 months, and that REALLY helped. Usually they don't suggest that stuff until about 9 months. She was weaned off the boob at about a year, and really started falling into a schedule after that. I think the whole sleep thing is reall

I used to wake up in the middle of the night when she was quiet and be positive that she was dead- would run into her room and wake the poor girl up. They said "treasure this time" All times are worth amazing, but I'm glad that part of it's over with ;) If I didn't have an anxiety disorder going into it, I sure aquired one for a while there.

Hang in there- that sleep stuff will get better someday, I promise. Congratulations on your little guy. He looks awesome.

Um...

I've been on call and haven't slept since last Friday. That's my excuse.

I think what I was trying to say was that I think the whole sleep thing is really important when you're a new parent, so if you've got someone to do night duty, even once a week, it would be a good thing.

God, I need some sleep. 8(

My little girl slept through the night at 3 weeks. Now, she goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up anywhere from 8am to 9am. Yeah, I got lucky.

I started my girl on rice cereal at 5 months, and my doctor told me that that was actually late. I guess a lot of people start their babies on rice as early as 3-4 months. At nine months my little girl was eating table foods. Check your charts again honey, when they are active they need more to eat than just formula/breast milk.
And... if you're wondering... I don't have a chunky baby because she ate cereal at 5 months. She is 15 months old now and weighs only 21 lbs. 25% for babies her age. She's just a wild little thing.

for some reason i want a baby now!!!... maybe not for about 10years.
congrats hun!!! elijah is gorgeous!

GiRlRaVeR: Post yer baby! (Mine's in the gallery) And...

Oh hell, you're right.

We were giving her rice a lot earlier than 7 months. You'd think I'd remember that, it's my job to do dinner, bath, and bed for her when I get home from work. Just doesn't seem like it's been that long. Anyways- it was cheese at 9 months. She was weaned at a year.

She never took to the bottle, either. I'd mix formula with her cereal in an attempt to help her sleep longer, but the only way she took formula was on a spoon mixed with cereal.

Ah well... I stand corrected.

Welcome Elijah!! I'm a "bad" one..I gave my son cereal at 1 month. Know what? He's 5 now (almost 6)...and he is absolutely fine. Not at all chunky either...lil petite actually. I believe in the old school pediatrician thing of..."They are ready when they are ready." That pretty much goes for everything.

well elijah is never satisfied with formula and hes hungry about every 2 hours so we started him on the rice stuff at bedtime a couple nights ago and now hes slept 5 and a half hours the past 2 nights and is alot less fussy .

imean , hes a little OINKER! he'd eat 6 ounces every 2 hours(2 weeks old mind you!) and still not be happy...

i had to be started on rice at a month when i was a baby too.....and im ok

neway i gotta killer headache and am tired as hell
lubbs you all !!

Hey everyone...

My sister and nephew are staying with me for three weeks. So far noone's slept much, but we're having a good time and laughing a lot.

Staudri turned 17 on June 26th, we had a nice dinner and little celebration.

Anyway, aside from all the little baby cuteness, crying, baths, and urine... she has another concern...

Sorry, never figured out how to quickly link a thread, but there it is. Any advice?

awwww staudri this is the first time i read through all the pages of this thread and i found myself actually crying when i finally came to the picture of you and your gorgeous bundle of joy ...i was saying to myself, for somebody as young as you are , you have shown even more maturity and responsibility than many who are so much older . I sometimes help my girlfriends who have kids ( i love kids so much!) and it is not an easy thing at all....it requires so much sacrifice, patience, love and compassion...which you have in spades and for that your child is truly lucky :) Im really happy for you !

I really hope that things work out for you and your court case.
I don't have any advice that wasn'talready mentioned in that thread.
You will be in my thoughts ;)
Kiss the handsome little Elijah for me. (makes me want another baby....lol)

I was just wondering the other day how you were going. :)

I have some questions for you:

* What is the biggest surprise about motherhood?
* What is the hardest thing to cope with?
* How do you cope with tiredness?
* Do you feel "different" now?
* Do you look different now? (body/skin etc)
* Can you describe the feeling towards your new baby?

I'm a curious wanna-be mum :D

I was wondering myself how your were.
Glad to hear that things are doing well :)

Snuggle the little guy for me
