On Saturday June 4, 2011, Ultraworld presents the 13th annual Starscape Festival at Fort Armistead Park in Baltimore, MD.

Main stage: Bassnectar, Lotus, Infected Mushroom, Rabbit in the Moon, Eoto, and Daedelus.

Dance tent: Steve Aoki, Feed Me, Bad Boy Bill, Le Castle Vania, Charles Feelgood, Doorly, Klever, Hot Pink Delorean, and Tittsworth.

Dub Nation Beach stage: Skrillex, Excision and Datsik, Flux Pavillion and Doctor P, Borgore, Zeds Dead, Subvert, Paper Diamond, Mux Mull, and Tokimonsta.

Drum and Bass Arena: Dirty Phonics, TC, Dieselboy, Sigma, AK1200, Evol Intent, and Mayhem.


More artists TBA.
 
Looks like a decent lineup so far. I've never been to Starscape. I'm back in the Northeast though, after a 3 year Vacation in the south. May have to check it out this summer. Think it's worth a 9 hour drive?
 
I started going to Starscape in 2001 when it was a real deal rave and it was still thrown by ultraworld. Steez took over and ruined it IMO. The crowd are mainly scum and these are the musical acts that attract them. It would be awesome if I was 16 and was chewing on a pacifier, but I'm not. I used to love Infected Mushroom back when they made actual psytrance, but sadly this is no longer the case

I consider Starscape to be over.

I've moved on to DEMF, Burning Man, etc

Trainwreck - tried sending you a message but can't due to lack of posts. Just a few ?'s if you don't mind. I was doing some research as both me and my gf would like to attend. We were looking at the VIP tix, as we usually prefer VIP over GA. In your opinion is that worth it? Secondly are they pretty strict about drug use? I've been to similar shows but they're all different, some stricter than others. Wish I coulda shot ya a pm but o well.,,

The only reason I would get VIP, like I have the past couple years is if you plan on drinking a lot. The only real benefit you're gonna get out of VIP is the free drinks all night long. Nobody actually listens to the music up in the VIP area, they mainly go up there to get drinks. You can get 2 at a time, so I usually bring one back for a friend. They do have couches and stuff up there, but I've never been in the mood to sit down while I'm there.

They don't have to be strict on the drug use there because everyone that comes to this event is sober. :)

Oh, and VIP used to come with a parking pass which was another benefit of getting VIP. This year the parking pass has to be bought seperate, and can only be purchased by someone who bought a VIP ticket. I also heard each stage is gonna have it's own "VIP section".

after i go to ultra for the first time this year, starscape will probably feel obsolete. honestly though, its the only festival of its kind within driving distance of me, which is why i'll probably go every year until they finally quit having it.
 
Thanks for the info. I don't plan on drinking much, maybe 1 or 2 early in the afternoon, but not much. The fact that VIP has seperate bathrooms and free water is enough for me.

In before jaded elitist whining about the lineup.

For me, it's all about the drugs and the people I go with; if the music keeps me up and moving, and there's a good variety to pick from at any given time, I'm not overly picky about it. Fortunately I have a school break that weekend, so I'll be there for the fifth time this year.

Well...maybe equally.

It just used to be a much different party, that's all.

If you like it, by all means...go...have a BLAST!

I would just rather keep my memories and go to other parties.

And I will definitely admit that the lineup is much better than recent years

i dont wanna go to SS this year cuz i dont want my memory of 01, 02, 03... to be muddled by it
 
I'm definately going this year....I graduate a 2 year intensive drug court program the month before, so the beast will be unleashed
