Gulf Cartel stamped cocaine is sixth drug package to wash up on beach at Galveston, Texas

FOR the sixth time in a week, a large bundle of drugs — 30kg of cocaine — has washed up on a beach that now has more police on it than sunseekers.

The beaches where the drugs are washing ashore are at the coastal city of Galveston in the US state of Texas, which is close to one of America’s busiest ports, Houston, near the Gulf of Mexico.

“It’s not unlikely to see one (package of drugs wash ashore) each month, or one each couple of months,” Sergeant Joshua Schirard, of Galveston Police Department, told the Houston Chronicle. “Six in a week is obviously elevated.”

Four of the packages contained marijuana and two packed with cocaine, the latest with a dolphin stamp on each package which is the signature of the Gulf Cartel, one of Mexico’s oldest crime syndicates.

The package, containing 30 neatly wrapped kilos, would be worth more than $3.5 million in street sales.

Drug cartels have sunk their shipments underwater, marking them with a buoy to be picked up by another crew. Sometimes the package can become dislodged and float away, eventually settling on a beach.

Sgt Schirard speculated that the sudden frequency of the packages might be because of the large number of boats stationed off shore, waiting for access to the Houston Ship Channel, which has been restricted by heavy rain. They have been
subject to increased searches by the Coast Guard or Customs and Border Protection.

Schirard said cartel traffickers may throw their loads overboard when they notice approaching Coast Guard or other law enforcement.

“Narcotics get transported through the Gulf and into the Houston shipping channel pretty regularly,” he said.

If this washed up on my shore, I would bury it in the sand once I found it and put a deck chair on it and wait for everyone to leave and would then proceed to take it to my car. Then depending on how fucked up I get, I would proceed to sell it or probably die. May as well when life throws you coke lol

I can only imagine what it would be like to find a brick like that. For the average person, it would just be this scary foreign thing and they would call the police. For people like us, though... 8o

You really need to ask yourself though what would happen afterwards and could you contain yourself? If the answer is no then you may as well keep on walking.

^por su peusto...negocios son negocios.

I do have to say the cartel Del gulfo (cdg) have a cool logo haha.

When the bricks come from the labs in the Andes mountains they are pure as jungle lab coke gets..but once it gets into mexico they mill it, dilite it with levamisole, repress with a new stamp.

I've always liked bricks with the scorpion logo...Sinaloa maybe?

Just looked, the black scorpion is the AF stamp

I don't even like cocaine. However, it would be a fun project figuring out how to "dispose" of it. ;)

Can you imagine having a good time at the beach, and then 30 kilos just start floating in reach?

That has to have happened many times, in those circumstances.

From statistics they print and report it seems like if you had a boat and lived in florida or texas that you could eventually get lucky.

I know that things would end badly and I would just keep it for a limetime supply, but I'd still be willing to pay the price of admission.

It would be like winning the drug lotto.

I guess a bail of weed would be like a consolation prize or something.

I'd be worried about GPS in a bail or something and having a bunch of cdg sicarios showing up and torturing me until I told them, then killing me.
