is it ok to use stainless steel ones instead of copper ones in a freebase pipe? whats the difference why do poeple aloways use copper?

ps i used search function, couldnt find a answer. i saw this question in a thread but no response

I Wouldn't use either...use heat...a propane or map gas torch should do the trick ;)

well...at least it does with meth pipes, but I know you're more akin to the crack, so I don't know if that would work for you...

edit: be very fucking careful with these suggestions though...you have to heat the glass red hot, so you'll probably need to use pliers and/or heat tempered rubber tubing to hold your pipe while you clean...

also, heat the pliers before putting them on the glass or you will have no pipe left...until you blow yourself another one with your brand new torch :P

probably not...it gets heated to the point it can be blown...

however, I've not heard of many tweakers that use pads to clean their pipes...I've heard of a few using stuff to scrape the resin in the stem when they were out, but never for cleaning purposes...metal tends to wear down on the glass a bit too...

Well there wasn't a whole lot of specifics answered in the original post, so sorry for trying to help.

I read freebase pipe and scourge pad and commenced on advising...don't know shit about crack...the more I hear, the more I'm turned off...

added to answer...the best I could think of is that stainless steel is normally coated with a chemical to make it "stainless"...

Not condoning in either since my days are over. But if you are going to partake in this unsafe activity, I can just tell u what is safest and why. Copper over Steel. Copper is thinner and packs tighter. Steel is coiled and more resistant and will therefore filter less product and if youre not careful, you will suck the red hot chemical covered filter right up into ur lips or even mouth. Just burn coating off either first.
I won't lecture. But if you or anyone reading feels they want to stop and can't , do not be afraid to shoot me a message.

Doesn't make a differences. Copper's a better conductor of heat, though. Both are about the same.

This thread is about done I think!

Closed, pm me with any queries :)
