Staggering Pregabalin/Lyrica for pain relief.

I'm seeing a Pain Management doctor next week, and I'm trying to gage my level of pain. I'm sick of going, not getting my point across and suffering.

Anyways, I got my refill of Pregabalin/Lyrica today, and I have been staggering my dosage to get a good level going in my system.

Over the past five hours, I've been staggering 150mg Pregabalin/Lyrica every 45 minutes to an hour.

I have taken a total of 1050mg of Pregabalin/Lyrica staggered. I'm starting to forget little stuff, but I can still function.
I'm loose, but not to loose.

Any suggestions? I know the max dose is 600/day, but I don't have any real pain relief till I hit a gram. My goal is to convey or convert this dosage into something that can equal this amount of pain relief. I know this is a fucked up equation, but I'm sure someone has an idea that might work.

Any ideas folks?

I dosed one more time. Total amount is 1200mg Pregabalin/Lyrica. It took double the max dose for relief. In a little while I'm going to take some Klonopin to relax me a bit.

I guess I want some real pain relievers that match the high level of Pregabalin/Lyrica.

Who has pain? You can speak here.

Thanks anyway Bluelighters. I know I posted a puzzling post. I called my oncologist and she is going to talk to Pain Management. I told them that the Lyrica works at 300 mg, but its effects are very small. I can barely feel it for pain. I also told them that the Tramadol 50mg was real light weight and I don't care for the effects.Any helpful reply's are welcome. Thanks Bluelighters.

To me, that seems quite substantial - no the dose per say, the just the fact that you can function on 1050mg p/d.

300mg and I felt very grotty.

600mg and my speech was slurred and I couldn't recall people's names or simple words.

But hey, you're not me, and I'm not you :) I've quite sensitive to Pregabalin/Gabapentin/Tricyclics/SSRIs/SNRIs etc... so that maybe explains my low tolerance levels. Other things like Opiates and Benzodiazepines I can munch through to excessive levels, it's weird how we're all 99.99% the same, but 99.99% so different.

What kind of pain are you in, if you don't mind me asking - neuropathic at a guess? If you've having to take 1,000mg+ of Pregabalin, I'd be skeptical as to what 50mg Tramadol could do - but hey, I don't know your opiate tolerance.

Just a quick question, are you being px'd 1050mg or a lower dose? I just envisage that if it's a lower dose, you're inevitably going to run out soon?

Also, I'm sure you're aware, but Pregabalin is considered one of the most brutal drugs to withdraw from, so I'd just keep that in mind.

Are you taking anything else other than the Pregabalin? Any NSAIDs/Opiates?

I'm prescribed 150mg Lyrica twice a day. I forgot to mention , I actually got to 1200mg of Lyrica , then I took 3 mg of Klonopin. Then I started feeling good.

As far as opiate tolerance goes, it is pretty normal.
I've taken 40mg to 60mg of Oxycodone for pain during cancer treatment. I have taken. I believe 7 mg of Opana . That was great.
As far as pain, I pinched a nerve in my back by a compressed disk. I have sciatica. Sometimes I wake up at night in extreme pain from my waist down. It wakes me up at night. I tweaked my left shoulder. It has hurt for over a year. My back stiffens up and hurts real bad. I get real pain in my legs.
My problem is I hurt all over, so it's hard to pinpoint.
When I'm in pain it is usually a 7 or 8 on a 1 to 10 scale.

I was taking 300mg Lyrica a day and 150mg total Tramadol . Very weak in my opinion, I don't care for the snri effects of the Tramadol.

I don't know what medicine will substitute. Tylenol 3 w/ codeine or hydrocodone. I just don't know.
