i just recenty(about 2weeks ago) got put on 20 mg of cipramil(SSRI antidepressent) ,i havnt rolled in over a month , how long will i have to stop taking my medication before mdma will give me an effect?

my friend got put on this and it seems fucked. so he isnt taking it. (weed helps more anyway for him) Thing is if you just stop taking this, your brain will get pretty bad withdrawls. You should reas the common side effects for this stupid drug too, nausea, weight gain/loss, dry mouth, headaches.. etc.. and the list goes on.

From http://www.google.com/search?q=cache :D Yh8f12OBFEC:www.lundbeck.com/FocusAreas/DepressionProducts/Summary_tablets.pdf+cipramil+half+life&hl=en
The half life of Cipramil is about 1.5 days. This means it will be 3 - 4 weeks before it is almost completely gone. However the paper also states that MOAI treatment can begin 7 days after intake of cipramil is discontinued. Although MDMA is not regarded as a maoi, it does have indirect action on mono amine oxidase A, so I'd still be cautious.
I always figure it is best to double what the clearance time is unless it's crucial. Remember the longer the safer, and with MDMA interactions there's still lots to learn.
Hope this is some help.

weed is the main reson i got put on cipramil , i wish i could keep going back to weed but it seems it just makes thing worse and it cost to much , damm its been 1 months since i havnt used drugs and i was hoping that cipramil wouldnt interact with my drug use .but by the sounds of thing i guess that is not the case and i will have to wait at least a month before i can use mdma or speed =(

from past experience u will have to wait about month after u stop taking cipramil before u can use mdma again. but speed on the other hand, i was able to take while on cipramil and the speed still seemed to work normally without and bad reactions. if u are on cipramil it would proberly be best not to take anything while u are on it and let them do what they have to do.
the side effects for cipramil almost disappear after u have been taking them for about 2 weeks then after that i hardly noticed them.

If you search the Health forum, you will find lots of posts. There is more to your question than merely when the drug will be excreted. In a nutshell, an SSRI is thought to induce brain changes (receptor down-regulation) that will make it difficult for MDMA to latch on to the serotonin receptors. These changes may last some time (weeks, months) after stopping the SSRI. Obviously the longer you take an SSRI and the higher the dose, the more pronounced this will be. What this means for you, is that you would probably have to stop your SSRI for a month, maybe more to feel anything. You may feel some of the stimulant effects, but none of the empathic effects.

If you have a medical condition that requires treatment with an SSRI, please note that MDMA and other drugs may exacerbate that condition.

Yes I used to take Zoloft when I was younger and still had the occasional MDMA tab at a rave while still on the anti-depressant. I dont remember having any problems, but the duration of the peak was very intense, but very enjoyable. I must have done this twice without knowing the dangers, then immediately stopped taking my medication <shouldn't have been on it anyway! ;-P > with no withdrawl effects experienced.
Ever since taking Zoloft which was for only 2 months. I have found that when i do decide to consume MDMA, my experiences are becoming more and more intense even though I stopped taking zoloft about 5 months ago.
What the fuck is going on?!

babydoc_vic, I thought significant receptor down regulation was usually only observed after several months or years of taking an SSRI.
Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Hardcore indicated he'd only been taking cipramil for 2 weeks. Guess I was assuming he wanted to stop now for his next roll. Of course downregulation is more relevant the longer one is on the drug....should of mentioned it anyway I suppose.

I have been on Aropax now for approx 7 months, in this time I have not slowed down my E, speed, coke blasting at all, although the difference between our med's I'm not aware of. Best thing to do is find a doc that you are prepared to be honest with about all your activities, I did this saying that what I didn't need help with was my rec drug use but that the AD was going to be as safe as poss for my lifestyle.

Aropax has the main ingredient Paroxetine HCL (also known as Paxil). The chemical structure of Paroxetine HCl is unrelated to any of the other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, tricyclic, tetracyclic or any other antidepressant. However, the antidepressant action of Paroxetine HCl is still due to inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin.
http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/parox.htm
For this reason MDMA may interfere with its action as an antidepressant, and in turn Paroxetine HCl may reduce the action of MDMA on the brain.

Good point phase_dancer. I was assuming he/she wasn't talking about using MDxx right now but in the future, but you were probably right in thinking Hardcore meant now. As for how long it takes for SSRI's to induce receptor down-regulation, AFAIK it's more like weeks - months, but I'm struggling to find any decent references on this. This is a good thread from BL on this topic SSRI's and Ecstasy: The final word (hopefully)

have read the above post babydoc but could anyone comment on the question below:
i recently ordered some fluoxetine for post load but was instead sent a quantity of both cipramil and aropax.
i have heard that aropax is a pretty rough drug to take as a course but which would be better to use as for a single post-load? aropax or cipramil?
and yes i leave at least 4 weeks between rolls
