I've written a bit lately about my tolerance to xanax. I could probably take 10 mg and not feel anything. I'm also on Paxil. Does this effect xanax's effects?

As a taper plan is waiting for withdrawal to start and take just 1 or 2 mg's to 'get through' a good way to lower my tolerance? I don't want to quit it's just I get nothing from them any more.
 
Don't know much about the anti-depressants but tapering will always lower your tolerance. 10 to 2 sounds brutal, i would try five. Euphora
 
Well my brain just doesn't react to them anymore. Does nothing. I figure when the hell hits the littlest dose to be comfortable (whatever that may be) will lower it from where I'm at. No use taking it if I don't feel it.
 
after being on it for a bit myself, not having it gets me a lot higher then ever taking it,ha. Euphoria
 
Dude 10 to 9 would be fucking brutal, let alone 10 to 2. You're a true champion and stronger than myself if you can handle this sort of extreme taper. But judging by your post you haven't tried this out yet.

It sucks to say but you'd probably be better off in the long run just to keep procuring your current dose of xanax and doing your best to taper off real slow. The negative impact benzo withdrawal can have on your life will blow your mind if you aren't already familiar with it. 10mg is a ton of xanax to not be feeling anything, you prob don't need me to tell you that.

To my knowledge benzos aren't really effected in any way by ssri's. I've been prescribed fluoxetine (Prozac), and Clonazepam at the same time, and according to my doc there isn't a ton of, or rather a significant amount of interaction between these two. I personally never experienced any altered, diminished, or amplified effects.
 
Well it doesn't seem to matter if I take 10mg or 2mg. I'll see how bad the withdrawal is and dose accordingly. I don't get any effect from taking a lot or a little that's the problem.

I'm wasting good drugs.
 
Im done with alprazolam too. It doesnt give me a high feeling anymore just really bad short term memory and I always wake up groggy going what happened, with nothing to show for it. Its not even that fun or euphoric, fuck that.
 
Paxil and Xanax

I have recently tapered myself off of Paxil after being on 30mg per day for 3 years. I felt like it had stopped working for me (it did work for a long time, for anxiety and mild depression). I also started to feel it was turning me into someone else, which is a feeling I can't really describe other than that. So I decided to quit. At first I went cold turkey for 2 weeks. WRONG DECISION. It was a horrible experience and I was emotionally wrecked, physically withdrawing like a mo fo, awful. So I wnt back to 15 a day. And then, after about a month, I got broke. Like, eat what is in the cupboard broke because I had NO money. And I ran out. And that time I didn't have such a strong reaction and it was over in a week and now I am free of SSRI's. People say docs don't make the withdrawal issue clear with benzos, but with Paxil, my doc never even brought it up.

Xanax and I do not mix. I do bad stuff on Xanax like go to a casino with 20 mg in my pocket and eat them all over the course of 15 hours while I have gambled away thousands of dollars. Or almost hit a pedestrian because I'm falling asleep at a stop light. Or forget to pick up my wife at work and leave her stranded for hours. At the height of it I was taking 10 mg per day. We were on vacation in a place 4 hours from a pharmacy. I ran out after being on that dose for months. I didn't even know about withdrawals from benzos then, let alone the seizure potential. It was very hard, but mostly I stayed drunk to keep it at bay.

I'm done with both of them shits. My 2 cents.
 
Ive been on lexapro 30mg for about 5 months and im pretty sensitive to xanax and even a lose dose of 0.5 will be noticable....i think youve just built up quite a giant tolerance for xanax because I notice no interactions whatsoever

Plus 10 mgs?! I cant even imagine such a dose, you need to stay off for a while, but if your addicted learn from people or doctors on how to W/D safely.
