Misc SSRI side effects?

Hey guys - so I'm an 18 year old college student (male) and I have recently started 25mg sertraline daily for anxiety issues and somewhat mild depression due to a very rough period I've been going through. Its my fifth day now and I'm not sure if this is the worlds best placebo effect but I definitely already feel a solid decrease in anxiety and uplifted mood with relatively no side effects. At the end of this week I'm upping the dosage to 50mg daily and will most likely not go any higher than that and get off within a year. However - I'm very nervous about sexual dysfunction as a side effect. While I do not believe I have felt a decrease in libido and my dose is very low for zoloft, will these effects arise and/or be permanent if they do? I'm very nervous about this and it's so weird because its like a paradox - an ssri can cause sexual dysfunction but also the anxiety I had was great enough to hurt my libido too. Meh.
 
It's impossible to tell ahead of time. Not everyone gets sexual side effects.

Just relax and don't worry about it. If it happens, talk to your dr or reduce the dose a little. In fact, if you feel like you're stable and improving on 25mg with few side effects, it may be best to not increase the dose at all, because side effects are dose-related a lot of the time and it's not like more is always better with these drugs.

The more anxiety you have over the issue, the more you will find it becomes a longstanding concern. Just don't fret too much and let things happen.
 
I am on sertraline. Started at 25 and upped to 50. For the first couple weeks, I had some insomnia and a decrease in appetite.
They went away but my sexual dysfunction never went away. I ejaculate without any noticeable orgasm. And it's harder to get an erection.
 
Thanks for all the answers guys! I think it'll all be ok and thats definitely true I'll give myself an effect by just constantly thinking about it.
