Ok, so I started an SSRI regimen a couple weeks ago. I was taking 50 mg of zoloft daily, but did t like the effects of theedicone on my GI tract (diarrhea every few hours D:). I took the zoloft for about two weeks, missing a few days here and there.
Now I'm taking 20 mg of citalopram. I've taken it for the past 2 weeks before going to sleep. I forgot to take it last night, and I plan on rolling tomorrow. If I skip another day, will it be enough to feel my roll? Would pre-loading with 5-HTP help or hurt?

Also, I'm going to get 140mg Molly capsule, I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

p.s. - my depression is quite mild. I've never been suicidal or extremely emotional, but I can get into certain moods for one or two days a week...

Any help is GREATLY appreciated...

My ex-partner takes citalopram and has never had a problem. Slightly lesser effects than others, and a worse comedown, but she may just like the drama(!).

I wouldn't advise coming on and off of your SSRI though. Doing so can have a worse effect on your mental health than not using them at all. After prolonged use, skipping a day really makes no difference imho. My ex-partner was always advised that if she missed a week, then she would start to notice a difference in her depression, and taking them again wouldn't necessarily help straight away. Again, another week on would be required to get back to 'normal' state of mental health.

I suppose I'm suggesting not to come off the SSRI at all because unless you're off for over a week it's unlikely to make a difference anyway, although I'm not nearly experienced or knowledgeable enough to actually advise that.

Pure molly is pretty omg amazing anyway. I don't think you're gonna miss a 10% dip in effects, if that's what your fear is...

good luck

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I have the opportunity to buy another capsule if it's needed, and split it with a friend.
I guess I'm thinking that I can just stop taking my meds for a few days because I've only taken an SSRI for a month total now.
I've really been looking forward to this roll, and I would be severely dissappointed if my first Molly experience was bunk because of these silly circumstances...

Well, stopping can't do any harm I suppose, so if you're sure your comedown depression (which we all get), combined with you usual problems are manageable without the meds, then go for it. The point I'm making is that when you start taking SSRI's again, they don't work straight away. It's a least 1 week for some effect, and 2 weeks for full effect.

Stopping your ssri is a very silly idea.

1. Your on it for a reason.

2. Stopping can cause problems.

3. Using mdma is likely to exacerbate your problems.

I readthe entire SSRI + rolling page from the directory, and I guess the reason why I figured I could stop taking my prescription is because I've only taken an SSRI for a total of one month now...
And like I said before, I'm not a heavily depressed person. Before I was taking my SSRI I had never even thought of being depressed.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not worried about intensifying my "depression" by stopping my SSRI regimen for two days, and then rolling.

It doesn't really matter how long you've been on an SSRI for, it depends on the half life of said SSRI (which is usually high). Added to that, SSRI's change your brain chemistry making it impossible to roll on MDMA. Added to that, the three points that MD pointed out should be sufficient enough reasons not to roll/quit taking your SSRI.

Ok, so for the sake of science I dropped my Mollie anyways. An hour later, I was feeling a very mild body high, and I thought that would be te extent of it. I decided I would have one snap from my 2 foot. 15 minuteslater I was in another world! It kicked it the E super hard. I dropped at 5:30 p.m today and I am still going strong.

Further information tomorrow because typing is a pain and it's hard :(

so did it work fine? i was on luvox for 2 years and had no trouble having good rolls just neaded a little bit more than i do now im off them.

Why bother taking the ssri if you aren't and don't take it as prescribed? You aren't doing yourself any favors by taking it when you feel like it. You need to take it as prescribed in order to get ANY benefit from it.

And stopping a medication regimen to be able to use recreational drugs, especially ones that push serotonin out of whack, when you are taking a medication to try to level out that chemical is a very bad idea. You should wait until you are in better mental health before you use mdma.

Its possible that you will feel "something" because mdma works on other neurotransmitters, but its not likely that you will get a full mdma experience, it will probably feel a bit more like speed than mdma.

I hope this helps.
