Ok, so I've been growing my own mushrooms for the past month or two now so I'm fairly new but getting good yields.
I went to bonnaroo two weeks ago and left my shrooms unattended as I have not yet set up a humidifier to automate my system. It was stupid to leave them alone for so long with no one to keep the humidity up, but I ha already gotten a good 3/8ths stashed away and wasn't too concerned with harvesting more.
When I came home I found, to my surprise, a plethora of pins sprouting and two HUGE mushrooms which seemed ready to pick. When I picked them, however, I found that the stem was very squishy and appeared to be hollow and the caps were a slight dead blueish color in the middle.
There doesn't appear to be any fungus growing on these, but I was just wondering if these were safe to eat and if they had any active psilosibin in them, if they them died, or if they had, somehow, become overrun with fungus from the inside or something crazy like that.
