Getting to the point ...
In case you guys missed the ANNOUNCEMENT, we'll be deleting all threads that haven't been replied to in the past 6 months. This should improve server performance as well as the results from any searches by TFSE (yeah, I know, that was the reason you weren't using it, right? ;) ). Consider this your 2 week notice to let the mods know which older threads you think ought to be saved. Come the end of that time frame *poof* all those older threads will be deleted without a trace.
 
I'm fairly new here (<1 year) but I still enjoy going through some old threads about events to get an idea on a promoter's past history or if a certain act has played in this area recently. There should be a fairly easy way to just export the old threads out to different tablespace instead of deleting them out. You'll save bluelight history while also saving server traffic. Win-win IMHO.

I light/middleweight agree with "Hollow Point" about enjoying the old threads.

They can be moved to the NAE archive forum, but really, do you really want to see how old and jaded we've really become? :p

I was talking about exporting the data from the database tables and storing them somewhere else completely. Moving the threads will still take up db memory as well as keeping entries in the hash table which would defeat the purpose.

Plus, we don't need to view old threads to see how jaded we all are. ;)
 
Aight... here is your opportunity - post a link in this thread if there is an event thread you want saved. Ya'll have until Friday May 8...that weekend I'll be deleting anything NOT linked in here up to the last 6 months worth of events.
 
1 week bump - anything older than Dec 1, 2008 will get deleted unless you provide a link to the thread here for the mods to save and archive. You are warned.


Deletion will occur Sunday MAY 10 while you sleep off your hangovers - save your threads nao!!
