WTF is up with this lineup chicago? Has anyone heard any rumors (solid ones) on phase two? I got a groupon for 75 bucks and snagged two of them so I am happy with that, but this lineup sucks. Out of the artists above I am excited for moby, joachim garraud, derrick carter, dillon francis, claude von stroke, arty, and diplo. But really... not THAT excited for any of them except moby. I hear that carl cox is a definite round 2 so that will be sick. Obviously daft punk is not at this fest, but anyone that really believed that is a moron.

Looks like i'm hitting three chicago festivals this year. STOKED for lolla. I am almost 100% that RHCP will be headlining, along with jane's obviously and probably foo fighters. I'm hoping for bassnectar in perry's test, and north coast is up in the air.

There was a groupon? UGH. Missed that. Eh, I think the line up is ok. We have different taste in music, but I am excited for Arty, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Green Velvet, Wolfgang Gartner, Hardwell, Claude Vanstroke and Gabriel & Dresden. Who would you want to be there? Also, I think this lineup is WAY better than North Coast last year.

Never made it to lolla... eh and I am ok about it. What about pitchfork?

north coast = bassnectar, sts9, fatboy slim, benny, carl cox, atb, lotus, wolfgang, future rock, rjd2, break science, lettuce, big G, paper diamond, soul rebels, new master sounds, hood internet, etc.... I personally like variation, and with break science, big G, sts9 it was really unique having instruments + electronic music. So in my mind I liked north coast much more.

I've seen everyone you named above besides g&d and I can't say I am excited for any of them to be honest. I guess I am not much into trance. I am stoked to see moby again and love carl cox. Wolfgang I have seen too frequently of late and hardwell I saw at spybar in december I think. Green velvet is always good but for some reason i dislike the guy.... maybe its the hair. ferry I saw in detroit a few years ago and markus schulz doesn't do much for me.

I've never been to pitchfork. Have you? I know they just released an initial lineup....

EDIT: I have not seen arty and really want to. All of my friends hype him up so I am really looking forward to that.

I am a huge trance fan, so it's a pretty decent trance line up for me. Although, would kill for Above and Beyond. Have you heard Arty's essential mix? I was bummed I missed him at Vision in november. I saw his other half at soundbar a couple weeks ago, Mat Zo. Such a good show. That jam band/electronica just doesn't interest me.

You don't like his green hair? Haha, I dunno I saw him a while back and he was great. Everyone was grooving. I feel like, you're going to re-see people eventually. The way Chicago is getting people in, I will have seen Sander Van Doorn 3 times in one year. Not complaining though, and a lot of them are free!

I was supposed to to pitchfork last year for TV on the Radio, but I think it was over 100 out. I had a free ticket, so I wimped out. Although, the hipster in me is wanting to go see Vampire Weekend and Hot Chip this year.

Oh man I've been re-seeing people like crazy. Chicago is killing it in the dance music category this past year. I am really happy to have been apart of it. I am hoping for Above and Beyond at Lolla. They are playing Lolla Chile so I would expect them to be at the one in Chicago as well. Over these 3 festivals, we will be able to see literally everyone that we want. It's kind of crazy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one disappointed in the lineup with spring awakening. I'm not a huge electronic connoisseur but I know I don't like much of what I heard in that lineup. But crap I love last year's North Coast lineup, I guess over the past year I grew to like a lot of the artists in that list and now I wish I went. Here's hoping they have an equally great lineup this year and I might go. I wanna get some dance on at least once this summer. Don't like pitchfork's lineup and lolla's too expensive.

I've been. I went last year. It's definitely a different crowd than Northcoast or Lolla but it's a lot of fun. One thing I don't like is that the park is really dusty. But if you didn't mind Northcoast than you won't mind Pitchfork (same location).

I'm for sure not going to Spring Awakening. Skrillex and Afrojack headlining will draw such an unfortunate crowd (especially Skrillex). Obviously I'd like to see Moby and Wolfgang Gartner again but that isn't enough to make me drop 100 for the weekend. I mean if I lived in Chicago full time I could just go see Wolfgang Gartner at the Mid in March or whatever and be real chill. And my desire to see Kill the Noise, Diplo, and Hardwell isn't enough to make me drop the money either.

WHAT!? I don't know... They don't seem as popular here as they are EVERYWHERE else. Here meaning the US. I think Chicago in the summer, is the best place in the world. Haha.

UGH agreed.

yea so i guess the consensus with everyone i've talked to is fuck spring awakening. Honestly I kinda want to go so I can be one of those "i've been going to this rave/festival since the beginning" type people... but now that I said that I feel like a d-bag.

I guess I have 2 groupon tickets so I was going to give one to a friend. If nobody else of my friends decides to go (we got a few going right now) then ill just sell it day of to some skrillex fan for 300$... don't have a problem with that. This festival will definitely sell out.

Haha. This is not the beginning though, it's now popular. They have had Spring Awakening for the past couple years (except last year )at congress. I still think it will be fun, but North Coast had too many "kids" in tutus. Everyone made me feel really old, and I am not old. So, I assume, I will feel old at this too. Will never understand why people dress up like that. Only in the states..

I am not paying $130 for this though. I am heading to Ultra next week which will be 1000% better than this. But, If you decide to sell your ticket, let me know!

oh ill be there, its going to be fucking sick. who wouldnt wanna see some good music in soldier field? I'll be at ultra too, and lolla, and NCMF. holler
