*** Spotlight Substance of November: AMT and 5Meo-AMT

I chose two substances this month as our spotlight.

I did this because I have expereince with 5Meo-AMT but absolutely no experience with AMT.
I want to increase Awareness for 5Meo-AMT as a subsitutent of LSD and encourage the testing of LSD blotters for the wanted ingrediant LSD, not the other substaces that often get thrown in there as a cheaper and cruel alternative.

Also I want to compare the effects of AMT and Alpha O. The addition of the 5 methoxy to a compound seems to produce some nasty effects.

I have done Alpha O over 5 times and beside the nasty come up, it was actually a very rewarding chemical. The visuals on it are incredible and the mindspace was suprisingly clear. It also felt similar to MDMA with a euphoric tinge. The downside was of course the comeup, filled with anxiety and nausea. During the bulk of the experience, there was still nausea, but it was controllable. I discintinued use becasue the after effects could be felt for 2 days after dosing, and they were not pleasent, mainly leftover stimulation, nausea, and bright lights.

I do feel that it was worth it and I would never take it back if I could. I definately dont reccomend this one to anyone else because of the low doses needed to get effects and the side effects.

I want to hear anything about these substances, especially comparisons of AMT and Alpha O, DMS.
Any experiences about LSD that turned out not to be LSD, and not anecdotal reports, actual reports.

Also, people who buy Acid regularly, if you are not 100% sure that it is LSD, please consider testing a hit before buying it. Believe me, it would suck to get something that is not LSD when you are expecting LSD, especially 5Meo-AMT, or DOx substances. They last way too long and when you are expecting one thing and get something else, bad things can happen, I know I would be unhappy if it happened to me.

Its amazing that the addition of many of the common substituents to the Tryptamine skeleton produces a psychedelic experience that is so much different than its close relatives!

We've all heard your story with 5meo-amt, F&B!
But for those who are new here, you may refresh our memories!

I personally didnt quite have the negative reaction you had, though it was bad enough to never touch the stuff again

What type of experience did you get from AMT?
 
AMT is my favorite recreational substance of all time. And it's useful for purposes besides recreational, too!

In fact, I love it so much I had to cut myself off. :|

AMT is just beautiful. In my opinion it floors MDMA and makes it obsolete. Everything about it is better and more real. It's not visual for me. What it does for me is to produce a stunning euphoria... like mescaline, it seems to bring out the beauty in everything. It makes my mind fly into high gear and is very analytical but with such a positive mindset that therapeutic work and positive mental/emotional exploration is practically a given. Even when using it daily, it remained magical (although I don't recommend that... I had some problems with brain zaps and depression following that).
 
I thought AMT was quite a visual drug? 5Meo-AMT was an extremely visual drug, with beautiful CEVs. If it wasnt for the horrrrrrible side effects.

Where did FastandBulbous go? I know everyone wants to hear his 2 ends story!!
 
AMT seems to be visual for some people, but for a lot of people it isn't. It's not like 5-MeO-AMT anyway... there are a few very minor similarities but the 5-MeO version is much more visual and in-your-face with the psychedelia. At least for me. AMT makes my vision soften, sort of like mescaline, where lights seem to come through a haze of color or something, and it generally seems to make everything appear beautiful. But it doesn't give me any outright visual distortions.
 
Man, I need to get my hands on some AMT. I kind of want to move on from the DMT derivatives and try something new. The phenethylamines don't really do much for me, although 2c-e does create some amazing synesthesia.
 
5-meo-amt is the antithesis of what a psychedelic should be, and is best avoided at all costs
 
I have 500mg of 5-MeO-aMT that was sent to me accidentally back in the "hey day" of American rc companies that I've never used. I'm really glad I knew the synonym "alpha O-DMS" because that's all it was labled with. I had ordered DPT and was planning on insufflating at least 50mg of it with a friend... Someone else may have just figured alpha O-DMS was just a synonym for DPT they weren't aware of. "Don't worry the 5-MeO is on us!" they responded to my complaint.

If I ever use it will be a small amount that I'll convert to the hcl first, as that seems to do wonders for the body load of aMT.

I do love aMT, but think it really shines in combination with other more powerful psychedelics. 2C-E will be the next psychedelic I try with it.

The strange thing about aMT is the lack of a crash. It apparently both releases and blocks the re-uptake of serotonin and dopamine on par with MDMA, so where's the crash? I've even used it with amphetamines, which I do crash from, to enhance the euphoria and AVOID the crash! The addiction potential is obvious even without the scientific data, especially if a salt form of aMT was used IV (the few reports of this describe it as stimulant euphoriant.) Lovely stuff, but it should be used sparringly.
 
That is exactly why Im not all about those companies stocking highly potent psychedelics, if you make a mistake on something like that you could potentially kill someone. If you accidently give someone 2c-i when they are expecting 4ho-mipt no problem, but 5meo amt when they are expecting amt or DOI when they want 2ci, big problem.
Good thing you knew, but Im not going to reccomend you actually try your 5meoamt, maybe just look at it! :)
 
Maybe try the 5-MeO-AMT rectally as well, if you ever try it, as that also reduces the body load of AMT by a lot.

I still have some 5-MeO-AMT also... I doubt I will ever try it again. I thought I had thrown it away long ago, but last week I happened upon it.
 
My AMT 5-meo-AMT experiences

I met a friend in 2003 who had a supply of AMT from before the emergency schedule 1 here in the US, and he gave me 80mg in a gelcap. I held on to this gelcap until 2005 waiting for an occasion to take it.

Meantime a good friend started getting into RCs and ordered a lot of 5-meo-amt which we proceeded to try at various high doses. and through various routes of administration.

As others have stated I found 5-meo-amt to have many unwelcome side effects and I (as opposed to others) found it it not very visual. It actually reminded me more of DXM than LSD but it lasted longer. It surely was not the blissful tryptamine experience of 4-ho-dipt or psylocybin.

One night I was at the same friend's house (the one who had ordered the 5-meo-amt) and I was drinking some whisky and we were eating fentanyl pops and I said fuck it lets go to my house and we'll eat that amt and watch Pulp Ffiction on the big screen (I had just gotten a theater room set up in the basement with a big screen high def). And so we did, we split the 80mg gel cap and washed it down with some juice.

Within about an hour I started to feel the effects, and I also started to feel very nauseous. At this point it is worth pointing out that AMT is considered to be a mild MAOI so taking it with alcohol is probably not smart. Not long after I started to feel sick I went to the bathroom to vomit and I vomited so hard and long that I pulled a muscle in my side and everytime I breathed in , coughed, o sneezed for several weeks afterwards I had a sharp intense pain in my side. The sickness reminded me of morning glory seeds, as does the sickness with 5-meo-amt.

After I expunged I was able to relax and enjoy the rest of the trip. I entered a very LSD like mindspace, that was a lot more intense and speedy than 5-meo-amt, although not as intense as some LSD experiences I have had.

It was also much more colorful than 5-meo-amt. For me 5-meo-amt had always had very drab grey visuals. In contrast AMT was electric color and light. Colorful like my 2ct2 experiences but more tryptamine edgy and geometrical like LSD.

Overall I find 5-meo-amt the least euphoric tryptamine (indole?) I've tasted other than morning glory seeds, and AMT was quite a bit better in my opinion, but still no comparison for 4-ho-dipt which is my favorite (4-ho-dipt is just too damn short!). The largest 5-meo-amt dose i've taken is 20mg and the only AMT dose I have taken is 40mg which is from what I have read neither a small dose nor a massive dose.

Would I do AMT again? Absolutely!! Would I do 5-meo-amt again? eh, maybe. I've done it quite a few times and it's not my bag of rocks. Probably if someone gave me some i'd eat it.

Since I took AMT when I was already on alcohol and a potent opiate I don't know how that effected the experience but I'd like to try it again to find out.

Well that's my own opinion, trip safe out there guys.

^^ Thanks for sharing. :) I think if you took AMT without being on opiates and drunk you'd get its full range of effects. It's a different sort of thing than the 4-substituted tryptamines (such as 4-HO-DiPT), so you can't exactly compare them side-by-side.
 
Awesome thanks simstim! 5meo was for me soooo visual it was ridiculous, I could not see in front of my face for all of the geometric floral patterns exploding with color every where. If it werent for the nastieness Id love that stuff!

Actually If I took some Fentanyl, Id probably had a great time
 
One thing I really like about AMT is for me its almost like two trips in one as the latter stage is distinct from the first. Now that I think about it, its almost like three trips in one. The come on stage IME is fairly nasty but it does allow for some introspection, then I slowly start getting happier and its great from then on. Once I give it a go rectally, I think I'll like it even more based on Xorkoth's recommendations. MDMA is incredible but its something I would use extremely sparingly. It's one thing to have all these great personal insights, but when you feel like shit for a couple of days afterwards, its hard to mobilize the insights and easy to dismiss them. :\

AMT provides a much more lucid and natural feeling euphoria and for me it gradually fades into more psychedelic trip and there's not much of a comedown or crash at all. What I normally notice is that once the trip is over I just get extremely tired and zonk right out. :| AMT enhances dreaming significantly, more than anything else I've tried.

I've taken small doses (~20mg oral) on a night out and found it quite nice but its best to make sure its kicked in before you go, otherwise socializing isn't much fun. These low doses seem to mix ok with moderate amounts of alcohol (beer anyway), but I wouldn't mix want to mix alcohol with larger doses. Cannabis seems to mix exceptionally well and kicks it into high gear adding a bit more physicality to the euphoria, and the mild stimulation from the AMT can prevent the lethargy from the cannabis from being noticeable.

AMT definitely has a place in my personal magical half-dozen. =D

(as for 5-MeO-AMT, you couldn't pay me to take it.)
