Sporting Nemesis and why you hate them?

Every one has their favourite team, but there is always one team that you love to hate (or are born to hate ;) ). Sometimes its geographical (Boston v NY springs to mind) but some times it is more personal.

Being an New Zealand All Black supporter I guess it is normal to hate on the Australians. This is true for pretty much every sport we play mainly due to a long history of cheating (The infamous Under arm incident in cricket springs to mind). Yet more New Zealand rugby supporters share a strong hatred towards the South African Springboks. 100 years of close contests can explain some of this rivary, so does the dark period during apartied when NZ teams were not allowed to field Maori players when touring the Republic. Throw in their general arrogance and you have a healthy dose if despise.

I have a strong dislike of the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Rugby league also, but this is mainly due to being colour blind. The Red and green striped jerseys leap out of my tv screen and cause a horrid dose of sea sickness.

In the NFL I also can't stand Green Bay. I can't explain this one, I gues it must have something to do with cheese hats :\

I wouldn't cross the road to spit on several French sporting teams but I might save that rant for another day.

Because I was taught to hate them by my family, just how it is.
 
the pittsburgh steelers. sorry, axl. i've always been a browns fan, the steelers hatred was built in to me. even when i was little and i didn't watch as much football as i do these days, i always caught those games.

the nashville predators. because i'm a columbus blue jackets fan and franchise vs. franchise we were 0-23-1 against them until a couple years ago when we started turning the tables yet people still called it a rivalry. it really made columbus look stupid. now that we actually bring it against nashville though, my anger towards them has settled a little bit, but i still hate them. :)

oh, and i didn't even think to consider collegiate sports, but michigan. ohio state fan here. :) mostly just college football that i watch, but i have no mercy for michigan. we could beat them 100-0 and i wouldn't shed a tear.
 
Detroit anything

I lived in Detroit for a bit and while I was there,all they cared about was the Red Wings. They wanted nothing to do with Pistons,Lions,Tigers, wanted them gone.

THEN OUT OF NOWHERE......Pistons win a championship and the whole city is we have always loved them bla blah vomit!!

For that I love to see them fail!!
 
Oh Manchester United, how I hate thee!


Now to clarify, I have been a Chelsea supporter since a wee lad, almost as far back as to when they were The Pensioners. I have seen the highs and lows of this club and at last I'm pleased to support a team that is fast becoming depised (or is that jelousy?) around the world. ;)

How ever my hate for the Red Devils runs deep. Success can breed jelousy but I also support Barcelona and Inter Milan with passion but still am able to admire Real Madrid and Juve. Man U has a certain Je ne sais quoi that just rubs me the wrong way. If you delve back into history they were granted permission to enter the European Cup in 1957 by the FA, despite knocking back Chelsea's bid the previous year. They then have the hide to champion their European success (you would almost think they are up there with Real Madrid :\).

They are quick to sneer at Chelsea's "New Money" and it's new found freedom to bid for the world's best, yet they have been hand picking the best youth players for years. A classic example is their Italian wonder kid Federico Macheda, with reports they paid his parents under the table to secure him as a 14 yr old.

You only have to look at their current squad to understand my grating teeth. Wayne Rooney (class act that lad :\ ) Ferdinand (would sell his own mother, if he knew who she was) and Ronaldo (super star player, with a super size sulk. Not to mention best diver since Greg Louganis).

It doesn't help that both my girlfriend and best mate are die hard Man U supporters. Nothing worse than sleeping with the enemy :|
 
I hate the Green Bay (fudge) Packers too.. only cause they usually whoop up the Chicago Bears when they play each other..

I pretty much only like chicago teams in sports.. and only follow sports when their playing/winning. Bears, Blackhawks, Sox, Cubs, Bulls, Wolves, etc..

why do you hate those teams anyways? i'm with you on all but the raiders, al davis is a douche, but they've become too irrelevant for me to hate them anymore. :)
 
Well really I don't hate the Raiders so much as their fans. They are just idiots and they multiply like rabbits. I live in a densely mexican populated area so I see a God damn raiders logo everywhere and they have no clue that their team sucks balls.

As for the Steelers all I can say is Ben Roethlisberger, God I hate him. Plus they beat my team the SeaHawks.

Yankees, well they buy all their wins.

Patriots are cheaters.

Red sox, I just don't like them. No particular reason. Except Boston fans are douches

What I do know is that Hasselbeck needs to retire, he's way past his prime.

Well thats more gang related than anything.

I hate Steelers as well. They did not win the Super Bowl against Cardinals or Seahawks.
 
Hate the Penguins, especially Crosby. Philly fan here, but no matter what team he's on I still hate him. All he does is moan and cry about penalties. If the penguins win the cup this year I'll cut my dick off.

The Yankees and George Steinbrenner. I started to dislike em when they beat the padres in the 98 world series, but I wasn't aware of the business side of baseball back then. The dislike grew into hate once I recognized that they were trying to buy championships, and I've loved the past 10 years or so because no matter who George signs he's been unsuccessful in getting the one thing he REALLY wants.
