Benzos Splitting pills.

I have a question. I'm pretty sure everyone has cut pills in half and put then back in the bottle and had them start to flake apart. I was wondering if there's any techniques people use to keep the split pill from flaking apart in a pill holder keychain or in the bottle I recently started touching the cut end on my tongue just to get it a little moist then letting it air dry before storing it but I'm wondering if there is any full proof method. Please share if you happen to know any.

PS: the pills i am talking about are the round blue 1 mg xanax made by Actavis.
 
Just don't split them until you need them! Xanax are scored, meaning they have that dividing line like this --> ( | )
they break apart easily in your hands, you don't need to cut them with a pill cutter or with any tools other than your fingers :)
 
I think his problem might be that these are the ones that fly apart when you try to split them with your fingers.

Like the guy above said stick them in the freeze til they harden a bit then try splitting them. Just make sure to do it over a plate in case any small chunks do fall off. Place those back in your bottle so they aren't wasted. I don't really see the point in doing it though unless you're splitting them and putting them in one of those weekly boxes for storing your medication. :)
 
I cut etizolam pills (etilam brand) every so often. Never had much problems with flaking, but getting both halves to be exactly the same size... now that's tougher with my ghetto knife and wooden board method. Guess I should invest in a pill cutter.
 
Most benzodiazepine pills flake, Xanax and rivotril as well, the only way I can avoid that is to use a pill cutter because it makes a perfect cut.
 
I used to always use a pill cutter, I did find eventually you get more of a crushing action then splitting. I guess that could be due to the razor getting dull I guess. With my Subs (which crumble badly) I use my handnthen put them in the smallest bottle I can find to put them in, I usually use of those advil travel things, looks like a small tube of lipstick. Less space there is, less space for it to rattle, less chance of it breaking up.
 
Ive never seen flaking from the maaany pills ive seen in my days lol. maybe with xanax ive seen baggies get covered in a light white dusty residue, but thats about it. if u keep it in a pill jar im not sure why the pills would flake away
