Splitting pills?

I want to resume a course of meds but the first week should be on 0.5 mg a day, then ups the dose to 1mg a day and I only have 1mg tabs. The pills don't have a split in them and I'm wondering whether the active ingredient is going to be evenly distributed through the pill binder or not.

yes, in theory the active ingrediant is equally distributed throughout the pill

Yeah, like Phat said. You should be able to split the pill in half evenly, and receive half of the dose.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I mean, I highly doubt the 'goods' are higher in one side, and lower in the other.

^^ Yeah, I see your point, that was my line of thinking. I just thought that maybe when they press pills that can be split they'd make sure there was .5 mg on each side, and that trying to reliably distribute a mg across 10mg of filler might be difficult. But I'll just split them and see how it goes. Thx!

alot of doctors tell people to take a half a pill of something, so im sure that any pharmaceutical grade pill would be good to go for breaking into pieces
