Chair.
Dragging me down again,
clutching me with your trembling hand,
holding me back,

caging me in your fears,
twisting the truth in the cheapest sense,
screaming at the world you've given up on,
but I can cleanse you,

I'm your mask, you're container,
but I'm wearing so deathly thin this eve.

We died once, we died twice,
we've been dead, not gone, now a thousand times,
but we're still here, paddling up stream,
choking on the stench of rotting dreams, thinking,
we should have buried them eons ago.

I know I've got to turn around to face you,
and I've tried with all my might, and you're pulling me back,
to go down and in again one last time,
to help me remember, but will I go blind?

I can hardly see as I speak,
and I plead with you, but you can't
hear me over your screams

and I want to know your secrets
dead men do tell tales,
and I know I've been riding your echo,
but destiny's caught my sails

and now I've got to take you,
draw you back into me, find a way to mold the future,
spiral off to where I've
never been.
