Speed is horrible stuff in my opinion but I did learn a lot from taking it. I learned a lot about myself and it helped me work with myself to help my social anxiety and other forms of anxiety.
I did not take great amounts, but I did binge on it for a couple of months before deciding to come to a complete stop because of what it was doing to me physically and mentally.
It gave me heart palpitations, paranoia and anxiety, when I stopped taking it the heart palpitations didn't stop, I went to the doctor and he said I have anxiety and have me propanolol which did not work maybe since I was still smoking weed at the time, so I stopped smoking weed and it worked out.

I was just wondering about speed:

-When I bought it, it's state in the bag was powder form, yet when I left it until it's time to take it, I woud go back to find it was in some sort of thick liquid, what factors would make it change it's state, would it simply be temperature, my dealer did keep it in her fridge.

-How is it different from crystal meth?

-Why did it smell like vodka?

It did help me out a lot in that time in my life. It gave me such clear thought through the haze of years of smoking weed and not dealing with my own internal problems, it gave me the ability to learn from social situations and gave me self confidence which I learned to apply what I learned whilst sober but it is a terrible drug and I do not condone it's use. I do not have any intention of touching any stimulant again, I do not trust the effects on the heart as my main reason.

speed helped you with your anxiety? Hmm... for me, pharm grade adderall at-least just exacerbates my anxiety.

methamphetamine and amphetamine are only one production step apart , this is meth is double methylated and emphetamines are methylated one . yeah amphetamines put tremendous stress on the heart , causing problems :/

Hmm found this... apparently amphetamine HCL sucks the water out of the air because it's hygroscopic, that's why it turns into a goo.

[...] amphetamine freebase as methamphetamine freebase is a liquid volantile oil, which will simply evaporate rather quickly about standing on air. It will crystallize (the little what does not evaporate) to form the carbonate (with the CO2 in air) which is even less smokeable then the sulfate.

It is possible though to keep the freebase in a closed bottle (preferably in the fridge) for some time until it decomposes. The freebase can be inhaled, just put a drop into a lightbulb, warm slightly and inhale the vapor.

The mush which is sold as "freebase" or "Paste" is probably either amphetamine.HCl which sucks water from the air for being hygroscopic or badly crystallized meth.HCl - almost oiled out.

Not anxiety in general, I meant social anxiety, I was a very timid person.

Yes mine was in a typical baggy, so I supposed when I opened it, air was let in and thus the speed turned to goo from absorbing the H2O in the air. I suppose there was not much composition because I would of never had the baggy open for that long.

^That makes more sense. Amphetamine is a wonderful social lubricant and it works wonders for social anxiety.

I suffer from panic disorder and am a frequent user of dextroamphetamine. While it makes me more socially outward and that's one of the nice things about amphetamines, I need to have a benzo on hand whenever I take dextroamphetamine or other stimulants.

Oh I would also like to ask something else:

When I was on speed this one time, I was standing in this back garden with some other people, we had all just been speaking, I was on speed, and they all went in and I wanted to follow but then my sight went, all I could see was blackness and I was extremely dizzy for a minute. After that my sight came back and joined everyone else inside. What was that about?

Also another time I was high on speed, I came home, no body was in, ran upstairs and as I was just about to step into my sister room (you have to go through that room to get to the bathroom), I felt extremely dizzy, my sight went, all sensation in my body went, I heard a crash and a bang then the next thing I knew I woke up, on the floor next to the door at the top of the stairs. Can someone explain this please, I would love to know what that means, what exactly it was and the implications from it, this happened at least a year ago and there has been no lasting damage to my knowledge.

Those faints sound like a vagal response to something that causes a drop in blood pressure. Some people get them if you stand up too quickly or if you get certain sensory stimuli. (I get a vagal response if my eyes go numb... don't ask...) The brain just doesn't work very well if it loses blood pressure rapidly.

1. "Speed" is usually amphetamine sulphate mixed with a bunch of stuff, usually sugars etc. These can draw water out of the air and turn it to a goop. It's usually controlled by ambient humidity.

2. Methamphetamine is a much stronger drug that lasts longer than amphetamine ("speed"). That said, sometimes meth is sold as "speed".

3. There was probably alcohol in it, either as leftover solvent, or as a "cut".
