First of all, welcome to Bluelight!

The "speed" you're referring to could mean one of many things, mainly depending on where in the world you are. Bluelight is a worldwide forum, what country are you located in?

Speed could refer to street "base" amphetamine (common in Europe and the UK), prescription amphetamine pills such as Adderall, Dexedrine or Vyvanse, methamphetamine (more common in the United States), or many of the research chemicals/designer drugs that have speedy effects, such as 4-MMC or "mephedrone".

Take a look around the forums, check out Other Drugs and the FAQs for information regarding amphetamines :)

Edit: Here is a thread with lots of Frequently Asked Questions about amphetamines/speed:

oh sorry.. im referring to street 'base' amphetamine... ya im just curious about it as i've never tried it and most people are saying not ton bother. thanks for your help.

When you take speed (the first few times) you basically feel like superman.

Your energetic , talkative and actually motivated to do things you wouldn't do while sober

Also check out OD (Other Drugs) where in parenthesis you will see (amphetamines) in bold at the beginning of the posts related to "speed" related threads. Be sure to notice the OD Directory link at the top of the forum just under the Forum Guidelines. It is a great way to navigate through OD by specific substances.

And if you want to delve even further into the subject ADD (Advanced Drug Discussion) can also be immensely helpful.

Welcome to Bluelight!

Much Peace and Love.............skillz

for me, it was 1st hit addictive. a friend at a party handed me a pipe and smoke this. so i did. it felt good, but didn't make me feel out of control like pot does, so therefore i thought i was in control. for teh following 3 years thereafter my life was devoted to continuous pursuit of the drug, spending tens of thousands of dollars, lying to my wife and friends, losing a job, losing a couple of teeth, it was hell.

so, be cautious. its not something you want to be trivial about.

just remember one thing, if you master speed, ur going to have a good time with it, if speed masters you, ur going to have a bad time with it ;) welcome to BL

good point

i actually like this statement and agree with it. as far as semantics,i wouldn't use the word "master" but i do know that some people function quite well on speed when use is done in moderation and all possible safety precautions are taken. fro example I have terrible ADD. I was born in the 70s,however,when the controversy over treatment of ADD(especially in children) first took off and by the late 80s stimulants for the treatment of ADD,especially in cases where proper diagnosis was not made.
I had been a huge abuser of amphetamines and meth-amphetamines for almost 15 years when my therapist realized my use had decreased to the level that I was basically giving myself a medicinal amount of meth bc it worked for me. Since I began seeing her for severe drug and alcohol abuse, the use of a stimulant to treat my ADD was out of the question. This all changed when I was about 29 and my drug use had become recreational and not habitual, although I am very much an addict. Getting older prevents your body from being able to handle the level of "partying" that was an all day everyday thing for me for over the past 15 years. I was no longer using insane amounts of speed and regardless of the amount I have used over the years, stimulants always calm me and focus me-typical reaction for sufferers of ADD.
i will be honest and admit that I have "relapsed" since then(5 years ago) and developed a dangerous IV meth habit that should have killed me due to the amount I was shooting, the frequency in which I was shooting and the time that this habit went on for. However,I am 18 months off illicit speed AND opiates(self initiated detox that took 9 months to dope down little by little and then go cold turkey-but that is another story.)
Today my speed use is confined to my RX only. And though I will occasionally indulge in a brief binge here and there,I feel I have "mastered" the issues in my life that led to such a horrible and lengthy time of sheer abuse.

tl;dr...basically commenting on the quoted statement above. I would go w/ a different word than "mastering" anytime substance abuse is concerned, but the overall point I do agree upon...thus the long explanatory post as to why i agree.;)

Instead of 'master' how about 'control'?

If you control speed, ur going to have a good time with it, if speed controls you, ur going to have a bad time with it. :)

^I'm with you, amphetamines (speed) are a very seductive drug. However, when used responsibly and with moderation, it can be very fun and a great party drug.

Enjoy it, but respect its power :)
