Ok, so i just tested two tabs, my first time testing. I'm feeling confused about the results..and have some questions.

I used Mecke regent only.

tab one: turned super fast, super dark turquoise/blue(mostly blue)
tab two: turned much slower, end result also super dark, but remained more greenish-black than tab one.

does this mean anything?

Based on the color chart it seems both of them have at least something ecstasy like, but, I'm wondering what the difference in reaction time and color might mean?

I'm just super paranoid, cause of the pills is a type/"brand" that seems to have a really bad rep based on pillreports.com. the other one i cant find anything on, so its an unknown.

I just want to know if the results mean anything, or if the differences are normal.

I have been told the quicker it turns the better, the slower it turns the more it is adultered, but that doesn't mean the the one that turned quick isn't adultered it just means there is more MDMA in it.

Ok, first off I want to let you know that Mecke was originally developed to distinguish heroin from morphine. That being said, it was found to work rather well as a field test kit for Ecstasy pills. The Mecke reagent will NOT react to methamphetamine/amphetamine (which is a common adulterant in pills nowadays)

The reaction time DOES mean something. More than likely what it means, is that there was something else in the pill besides the active ingredient. Basically how this test works is the acid breaks down the substance and a color change results. If there is more than one substance in the pill (including binder), the acid could take longer to dissolve the bonds of the active chem (in this case, an MDxx compound), resulting in a slower reaction.

If there are multiple substances present, the color change could be skewed, but this would be more noticable on the Marquis than it would be on the Mecke. Basically, an MDxx substance will overpower any other reaction. Again, Mecke does not react to Methamphetamine (a common adulterant), so this could be the likely culprit. (though I'm not 100% on that, so please regard that as just a possibility)

From your description, it sounds like tab one contains much more active ingredient (MDMA, MDA, MDEA, or MDE[rare]) than tab 2. Tab 2 more than likely could contain another ingredient (such as meth), or could just be more binder+garbage (or caffeine) than tab 1. The lighter color on tab 2 is a good indication of a lower concentration/a lesser amount of MDxx, or could be an indicator of an adulterant of some sort.

I would be interested to know what kind of presses you had. I'm imagining that tab one is the one you couldn't find any information on PR about, and tab two is the one with the bad reputation on Pillreports.

and +1 to what jtaliciaa said.

Yup, the first one is the one I couldn't find info on. The second is the one with a bad rep for being heavily adulterated. The first is one I cant even identify, and the second is a blue transformer (round) supposedly 'triple stacked'.

What you guys are saying fits with what i was guessing. My gut was telling me tab 1 was a better bet than tab 2. From what I did find, pills resembling tab 1 got very good reviews on pillreport (resembling in terms of color, lack of identification, and/or how easy it does or doesnt crumble).

May I make a suggestion? Get a Marquis to go along with your Mecke. Marquis can test for sooo many other adulterants, there is a huge list of them here (and for Mecke too): http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_faq_testing_kits.shtml

And if you order one, please help keep Bluelight alive and order through our banner at the top of the screen. Price includes shipping! :D

Can someone shed some light on this one...

Tested with the E2 (2nd Defence) Mandelin Reagent.

T+30secs: turned green/olive
T+60secs: green/olive with red/purple (magenta?) spots on edges
T+120secs: red/purple spots increasing in size
T+300secs: completely reddish purple (not dark purple)

Confused at this reaction as first time I've tested.
The first color change indicates speed/meth?
The second olor change indicates MDA?

is this a fair analysis or is there something completely different going on here?

First Post :D
