Ok so maybe its just me but it seems as if Speed is paid alot of homage in various forms of entertainment we utilize everyday. I'm just trying to see if I'm not just imagining things when it comes to the media giving thanks to various drugs. For example the TV show American Horror Story the most current season shows many of the characters smoking from the glass dick and participating in orgies while under the influence of speed. Another one is Sarurday Night Live (SNL) when Kendrick Lamar performed and oaid tribute to Ole Dirty Barstard his movement was accelarated and pupils dialated it was a dipoction of a speed binge. Last one i could notice which was recent are in videogames. A demo for the Ps4 was released called P.T. which is Silent Hills newest game coming out shows a part of the house where there are eyes all around the room as well as hearts that are beating fast and arms that look like someone just slammed in picture frames on the wall. You also can't walk you can only run really fast. Has anyone else noticed these tributes/glorification to drugs in the media?

About drug use in media...

Yes, When I looked at the details in AHS: Freak Show as to what drug they were using it could be either amphetamine or opium. Amphetamines were hitting with their first epidemic in the U.S...from the 1940's to 1960's and it has reached roughly the same levels again presently. Perhaps this is the exact relationship they were indeed trying to convey.

Opium was also a very popular drug at the time and was often smoked, there were three great regimes in China, Britain, and Japan producing very large amounts of high quality opium at approximately the same time frame. Opium was considered darker at this time due to it's connections to certain regimes.

Both of these substances could be used in smoking in dens, brothels and at orgies. I do remember points of them being foggy like on an opiate or an extreme rush of an amphetamine high. I also do not know how popular smoking amphetamine was to it's usage as it was to opium. They didn't exactly show any pupil's being adjusted to the high, as far as I can remember anyway.

Or perhaps It was both of them. Why the hell wouldn't a rather deviant, strange, and possibly quite demented Elsa Mars push both on her troop in a Freak Show speed ball. All in the way you perceive it I guess.

Also, I do not know if this instance was glorifying the usage aspect or showing the drugs' use and the state of society attributed to their widespread abuse and their effects leads to cascading events that lead to insane murderous situations.
