Specific neurotransmitter deficets related to specific symptoms - treatments?

Its made up bullshit. There's no evidence to support the general premise, and theres no evidence to back up most of the things on the website in general
Not with Ritalin, which creates generation after generation of drug addicts

well, the site in general is a bigtime cheese flop. yet there is much to be said for nutritional sups. i swear by transmitter precursors such as centrophenoxine and l-phenylalanine (hate 5-HTP), and certain MAOI's with antiaging properties.

P.S. i was talking the other day w/a leading neuropsychopharmacolgy professor, who mentioned there is cognition enhancement noted with cholinesterase inhibitors in healthy adults, albeit w/some unpleasant somatic symptoms.

LOL

According to the website, an Acetylcholine deficiency is correlated with "lack of career goals."

I love pseudo-science.

nanobrain -- you're thinking about aricept, the alzheimer's drug. It's been shown to improve memory and response time in healthy pilots, I think...

"Serotonin concentration in the brain is far more sensitive to the effects of diet than any other monoamine neurotransmitter -- and can be increased up to 10-fold by dietary supplementation in laboratory animals.

Consumption of a meal that is high in carbohydrate, branch-chained amino acids and tryptophan has a particularly dramatic effect because both glucose from carbohydrate and branch-chained amino acids (especially leucine) increase insulin secretion. Insulin facilitates the transport of the branch-chained amino acids into muscle cells, thereby reducing the competition tryptophan faces for the large neutral amino acid transporter that takes it across the blood-brain barrier. The resultant drowsiness induced by serotonin is a common effect of a large carbohydrate meal. "

it is possible to affect neurotransmitters through diet, so it would also be possible through supplements but a proper understanding of the science would be helpful.
