Harm Reduction
S-P-S,
I'm a newbie to this site, however nowhere new to drug use/abuse. Been a hope to die heroin addict for 20+ yrs., which of course includes ALL other opiates. But then I got tired of the game. And I too became very involved with
"harm reduction", which not only do I totally believe in and support, but that I also believe is the on-coming "norm", if you will.
Needle exchange is people's first thought I believe, when the words harm reduction are said or read. As you know, that's just the tip of it. Also included are Methadone Clinics, Suboxone, and many more healthy, alternative drug programs that keep one off the streets, away from crime, and able to quit shooting up drugs that who knows WHAT they contain or are cut with. Less abcesses, less diseases, etc.
A pro I'm not. But experienced I hell of am! And I know that after 10 years on a methadone clinic,(which I swear by if it's done correctly), and now on Suboxone (8mg pill a day), I've found out that as long as I can have a reasonable opiate binder in my system, and feel "normal" (ha!), then my life is good today. Thanks for the time, and your reinventing of this thread. I for one
will be here and be paying attention.
