Speak Your Mind on the OD Rules

In general, I think you guys do a pretty good job. As far as the search engine is concerned though, sometimes it's really hard to use it to get a specific answer. I know I started a thread recently concerning Ativan, but it was closed because there had been a lot of threads concerning Ativan recently and I was told to UTFSE. The thing was, I had already done so. I guess I'm just saying that the specificity of the question should be taken into consideration, because I know my specific question had not been asked/answered, but it was probably assumed it had been because of the recent heavy volume of similar topics, which is understandable. But then my other problem was that I PM'd a mod asking if it could possibly be reopened because I had searched and couldn't find an answer, only to receive no answer. I know you guys are busy, but I just wanted a response and no one likes being ignored. Other than that, keep up the good work.

I know it must've been considered at one point but so I am curious; why don't you guys have something similar to what PD has with their "Big & Dandy" threads?

The forum moves so fast they usually get lost, and so many posters are new that they don't know to look for them. We do have several mega threads though.

IMO most people who come to BL, come to hear whats new, whats cool, whats hip (the mean and nasty stuff only). If they wanted to ask, "whats the best lip gloss?" they would go to a Free Search Engine (like Google).

Keep up the great work guys!

Willie

How about a plethora of stickies instead of the current system? Think, every time a user comes in they see Benzo Thread, Opiate Thread, PPT Thread, Oxycontin Thread, and maybe even bold with colors at the top of the list they will go to it. Really would remove clutter and they aren't even sub-forums. Could just use all the mega threads we have.

^As somebody said earlier, many people who come to OD go straight for the bold threads and skip the stickies.

Yea just seconding that and throwing in it could be a great implementation.

Weve found (tested with this thread) that if we want a thread to get noticed, sticking it is actually not the way to go. It gets more attention if its in with the rest of the threads. No one replied to this thread untill we unstuck it. As soon as it was unstuck, you can obviously see what happened. 4 pages already.

^ We arent going to promote the injection of suboxone anymore than we (I) already have. I wrote an entire FAQ on shooting suboxone under the buprenorphine section of the OD Directory that answers any question you may have on it.

We dont support the abuse of those programs. There are so many people, examples of some can be found in OD, who cant get on those programs because the doctors have to many patients, so we wont support someone abusing it when there are others who need it more than they do.

Thats my stance on it, at least. I dont want to speak for the entire staff.

Thank you very much for that one seven . its about time . that was becoming one of my peeves to . you dig yourself a whole so deep that you have to get onto mmt or bupe treatment to kill the addiction . yet your attempting to start a new one all over again just because its free or government funded .. get a life.

Also as for the B and D's sticky them right to the top of the page so users can see them right in there face . theyre already bold text so it should be that hard but one once is made it should be stickied .

Also we need to add Hydromorphone to the ODD and also iv morphine dosing has a broken link in it . and also we should add Oxymorphone for the ER and IR versions for the US users.

^ sorry, but whats "B and the D's" mean?

Ill look into those ODD issues too. Thanks for bringing them to our attention.

I did see that, the Mega threads go all the way down instead too ... I'm saying making them stand out more and blend in with the rest of the posts, instead of giving them their own dark area (which franky where they are right now). If we illiminate those posts and make them obvious then they can be effective, I am very certain.

Maybe sticky a thread after it's gotten x amount of replies? Since people already know about and will be looking to reply in it...could work :\
Maybe test it out again with this thread?;)

OD has turned into Drug Basics, which needs to be changed, quickly. It should be the DB moderator's job to welcome and help new users who have 'newbie' drug questions. Instead, they are coming over to OD first, where they are clashing with our veterans. I don't know what attracts them all, but OD sure has alot of trolls.

I'll still never forget that fentanyl analog thread that went on for almost 100 pages...Why the mods let that one go on was way beyond everyone here. What ever happened to that guy anyways..hah..that was quite the thread.

^ That thread happened at, what I imagine to be, a rough time for the OD mods. Im not going to go in to details, but thats in the past.
