Ok so I googled this and looked it up on the site and all I found were threads about twitching and spasms during withdrawal. But I only get them after I've done a couple nice shots. Am I like an exception or does this happen to others?

how's your nutrition? You eat foods rich in potassium ? bananas ? potatoes ? That might help. Get your vitamins up! B's and all that.

There are many possible reasons your body is doing this. When did this start happening?

Could be anxiety that's what first comes to mind. Your not alone many suffer from violent tremers and spasms while high on dope.

Another thing it could be is some damage from Years of IV drug use in which case I suggest you go to a doctor. You could have hit arteries and/or damaged nerves .

There is actually a known condition called Myoclonus which causes your symptoms and has been shown to come from opiates. Myoclonus occasionally occurs in patients taking chronic opioids. It appears to be dose related and seems to come in a unpredictable manner. It seems to be defined as the occurrence of a series of neuromuscular disturbances probably sharing final common pathways. A neuroexcitatory opioid metabolite accumulation has been proposed to have a possible role in determining myoclonus but still not much is known about the condition/side effect. Benzos have been shown to help but obviously I'm not going to tell a heroin addict to start popping benzos you'll kill yourself. When this happens in the medical field the Current practice suggests a change in opioid when pain control is only controlled with high opioid doses resulting in unacceptable adverse effects, including myoclonus and hyperalgesia. A change in the type of opioid may be useful in patients who develop severe central adverse effects such as you. But unfortunately your not using this for pain Your using it to get high and its an illegal drug its not like you can just switch up your opiates until you find one suitible for you.
This can come from any opioid really even methadone and Suboxone users report these adverse effects.

Sorry I don't have any solutions for you but if it doesn't bother you too much I doubt your in Any real danger. If it is and seems to be getting worse then go get checked out.

Slight overdose I would say, but could be wrong.
This happened to me when I would relapse on heroin, mostly at night when I had a lot in my system

I was using almost the same amount as what I used to use (even a little less), when I picked up again before I quit, and my body would almost like seize. The spasms and twitchings would last about an hour then subside. It could also have been a build up of dope in my system from the day's use.

Quite scary - It never happened when I used for about a year, but I slowly built up my tolerance then. Only when I very rapidly increased amounts these symptoms came on.

I tend to get really twitchy at night when I'm laying in bed if I go to sleep after a day of using. I don't use regularly anymore (haven't had a regular habit in over a year) so now on the rare occasion that I do get jammed I find that it's even worse now than it used to be. I never really put much thought into why, but I am familiar with that feeling too. I always just assumed I wasn't getting enough oxygen or something because I already have problems breathing at night, then with the dope or oxy I am just breathing that much less.
I used to jerk pretty violently when coming out of a nod back when I was doing a lot of Opana, but that was something completely different than I experience now. It only happened with Opana and I have heard a few others say the same thing about that specific drug.

It's possible that if this is from dope rather than pharmaceutical use, it may be from a certain cut that's being used that's not completely agreeing with you. We have to look at a few things in order to see if this is the case.

1.)Are these isolated incidents that have been happening recently? From the same dealer, similar batches?
2.)Does this happen while you are on pharms like high dose oxy, opana, dilaudid, morphine, fentanyl, etc.

If the answer to the first question is something like: Nope...this has been happening for a while now, from multiple batches of dope, from different sources, which may not share a certain cut which may be causing the issue.....and/or the answer for the second question is : Yes, it has happened with pharms....then-

my opinion would point to your experience with these sensations as being coming out of mild to moderate nods, yet not realizing that you were even nodding to begin with, and you feel the jerk/spasm of your body readjusting and reacquainting itself with normal level of awareness...a.k.a snapping out of a nod. I've seen this happen to people I've used with, and I've experienced this a few times back in my active using days. It's hard to discern individually, and it's easier to realize the issue when you are with someone who isn't as high as you are, so they can visually monitor you and see what happens immediately prior to these spasm episodes.

lol VitamaN...your answer and your username are very closely related. I thought that was funny.

But you have a point. I make sure that I take a multi-vitamin like centrum (silver)...(although I aint silver yet, I'm only 28 )everyday in the morning, with a full glass of water. The full glass of water helps with digestion and anybody on opiates KNOWS how fukced up digestion can be for them...going days without taking a dookie, and then that morning when you are slightly ill, your bowels turn back on a bit, and you feel plugged up...sweating, cursing yourself while on the toilet, trying to expel the anal demons that are occupying your system.

Water and vitamins help. More than most people think. Tom Arnold nearly died from not taking a shit from a couple weeks while he was addicted to oxy. His bowels literally ruptured and he had immediate surgery that saved his life.
