Sovaldi Hep C Treatment

My step dad has Hep C has had it for a while now. Just heard about this Sovaldi drug that supposedly has a 90% success rate in curing Hep C. Only thing is the treatment costs around $50 000 - $80 000 in Canada. Is there any way you can get the meds for cheaper legally? I was thinking something along the lines of going to another country and seeing a doc and getting the script out there. Maybe another country has a deal with the pharmaceutical company where the price is subsidized. If any one has any info it would be appreciated as $50 000 - $80 000 is way out of our price range. You may find a slightly cheaper price, but I don't think you'll be able to afford it, this drug is expensive. Have you considered other drugs ?

He has tried several different trials so far not sure exactly which ones but none seemed to help. From what he has told me this seems to be in his word "his last hope"

^^^ I think those are only for US patients though. I believe he is in Canada. Maybe there is a Canadian alternative though.
