Bluelighter
I gazed into a brown
I had never seen before.
It was so sweet, so smooth, so rich,
I felt the hunger inside me
rising. I was uplifted.
Our life bearing sun had
turned over for the day,
but life did not cease.
Over head the Brooklyn
Bridge cast its lights down, meeting
its own reflection in the water.
I was somewhere inbetween.
Lifting off the cold Atlantic,
the wind embraced me. Wrapping
around my face with a cool
and gentle touch. In my ears,
it whistled the sweet melodies
only Mother Nature can conduct.
Around me, people passed by,
engaged in conversations that passed
with each breath of the sea.
The night was filled with life, but
never had so much life filled me.
We stood, gazing into each others eyes,
in disbelief of everything
that had got us there, to that night.
I saw deep into her,
captivated by her intelligence,
enlightened by her joy,
breathless to her inner beauty.
She grabbed me close.
Enjoying the warmth of our two bodies,
I listened to the rythym
our two hearts created.
I caressed her thoughts,
dicovering they came from the heart.
I searched myself for answers,
only to discover I had no questions,
no doubts. Emotion pumped
out of my heart, filling
my veins with imagination and dreams.
I saw my life in her eyes.
My lungs filled with her breath.
I felt our heart beat.
My lips moved, our heart spoke,
"I love you."
