Investigators are looking into whether "Sons of Anarchy" actor Johnny Lewis may have been under the influence of drugs Wednesday when he allegedly fatally attacked an 81-year-old woman before falling to his own death.

Sources said detectives believe C2-I — a new designer drug known as "smiles" — might have played a role in the incident. The illegal drug causes hallucinogenic effects, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration, and was linked to the deaths of two North Dakota teenagers this summer.

The drug is usually sold in tablets or powder form, which users often mix with chocolate before eating.

Los Angeles police found the body of Lewis in a driveway in the 3600 block of Lowry Road on Wednesday morning, authorities said. Law enforcement sources said he fell on his head from a roof or balcony.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office identified the woman as Catherine Davis, 81, who police said Wednesday may have rented a room to Lewis. The sources said Davis and Lewis got into some kind of altercation.

Details of the incident were still not clear as the investigation continued, but authorities said it began about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday when police received several calls reporting a "screaming woman" and three men fighting.
Lewis allegedly climbed a wall and fought with a house painter at a neighboring residence before going back to Davis' home, police said. He then scaled the wall again to fight with the painter and the owner of the second house, Los Angeles police Sgt. Frank Preciado said.

The owner of the home said reports that Lewis showed “superhuman strength” were accurate. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he said Lewis was hardly detered by the blows he took, that it was like “hitting him with a fly swatter.”

The neighbor, his wife and the painter ran into the house after managing to shake Lewis. It took all three barricaded against the door to keep him out, said the neighbor, who asked not to be identified.

When officers arrived, they found Lewis' body in the driveway about six feet from the wall. They later found Davis' body at the home. Investigators said they believe Davis died from blunt force trauma and that Lewis was the sole suspect.

Coroner's officials said no official causes of death had been determined.

The two men who fought with the suspect received minor injuries and were treated at the scene, Preciado said.

Best known for his two-season role as Kip "Half-Sack" Epps on "Sons of Anarchy," Lewis' list of credits include appearances on "Boston Public," "The O.C.," "Criminal Minds" and "The Guardian." The Los Angeles native also had several film roles, including a part in "The Runaways" and "Raise Your Voice," starring Hilary Duff.

He most recently played a prisoner in "186 Dollars to Freedom," released this month.

These kind of articles make me very angry.

If no official causes of death have been determined, how in the hell does somebody attribute it to 2c-I? The author is pulling this out of his ass!

Yeah, just like how the "face-eater" was supposedly on "bath-salts" until they actually did some fucking police work and checked what was in his system.

Officials speculating on what X person was on when they did X thing before actually checking their system for the drug, makes them look like a fucking joke to anyone with a brain. That's not detective work, thats wild speculation.

People are fucking stupid.

People who read that story and believe this unscientific speculation, people who make those unfounded claims, people who publish those claims, sigh.

Faith in the intelligence of humanity degraded once again. Nothing new here.

Johnny Lewis' Death Leaves More Mysteries: Drug Use, Ties to Scientology?

New details in the death of Johnny Lewis have emerged and do not paint a pretty picture of the actor's last hours.

According to ABC News, police believe Lewis may have been high on a new combination of drugs known simply as "smiles" before going on a murderous rampage and falling to his death.

Catherine Davis, 81, was found strangled in her bedroom; police ascertained that she had died from blunt-force trauma and had been beaten to death, most likely by Lewis.

Her cat was found in the bathroom, mutilated and dismembered, bringing even more horror to the situation.

According to witnesses, Lewis exhibited "superhuman strength," as he left the scene of the crime, ABC reported.

It is possible that if he was high on "smiles," he would have the ability to do show great feats of strength but would also be suffering from aural and visual hallucinations.

"Smiles" is similar to a combination of MDMA and LSD, officials previously told Yahoo Shine. It can cause extreme body temperature, seizures, kidney failure and fatal blood pressure.

The drug is relatively new but is just as potent, if not more so, than the infamous bath salts.

"Mr. Lewis at some point jumped over a fence into a neighbor's yard and for some reason attacked the painter who was over there painting the house.

The painter and the homeowner were able to get away. He jumped back into his yard where he was staying and at some point shortly thereafter fell to his death," LAPD Cmd. Andrew Smith told ABC.

When police arrived, Lewis was already dead and found in the driveway of the home. Authorities are performing toxicology tests and waiting for results while trying to piece together what may have led to the outburst.

Lewis, famous for his role on "Sons of Anarchy," had just been released from jail before this latest incident police explained. He had previously been booked on assault with a deadly weapon and burglary.

And according to TMZ, Lewis had a history of drug and alcohol abuse and had been through a rehabilitation program run by the Church of Scientology.

According to reports, he was an active member and even became a spokesman for the rehabilitation program; since his death, Scientologists have denied all ties to Lewis and removed his images from their website.

I love the way the media is so quick to demonize psychoactives. But really.. shit like this makes me sick at my stomach. Having experienced 2C-I, the only way someone could take it and kill someone is if they already were severely fucked in the head anyway- In which case they should come on BL and learn to exercise some fucking harm reduction, and not take compounds that could facilitate psychotic issues. On a side note, "superhuman strength", I call bullshit. Fucking ridiculous...

that sounds more like he was on PCP or maybe some combo of stimulant and anesthetic not 2ci...these people are fucking retarded. I honestly hate the media they are a bunch of worthless fucks who will say anything to sell a story.

It was not 2C-I he was on, it was 25I-NBOMe. That's what's being called "smiles" on the street, anyway. And it certainly fits his behavior a lot better; 25I is bugshit crazy from what I've read.

^ oh yeah? And where are you getting this information from? The recent article about "smiles" and Elijah Stai? There is a vicious loop of misinformation here. It pays to use a little discretion in discerning these events. Game a fucking break. I am getting a callous on my forehead from so much face palming.. .

I took some 25i recently and had no thoughts in mind of any sort of violence. Why doesn't the media do a Bill Hicks?

“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Heres Tom with the Weather.”
