Harsh times. They were ignorant/intolerant.

It's up to us/you/me, as adults, to make up to ourselves, what we did not get - in terms of understanding. That's our job. That's our discipline. 💜

We can analyse it till the cows come home but, essentially, it's our responsibility now to compensate ourselves, genuinely, as responsible adults. We need to do that, over blaming - otherwise we fall into victimhood & lose our power.


Of course, life is not this cut & dry. But if that is not our objective then, we fall into self-harm.

We don't deserve this - the VERY people that can lead others into empowerment over themselves do not need this.

Forget the trendy, social nuisance " gay/straight trend"...don't ever put up with that. Life is short - make it your own. Find someone who loves/respects you, or stay sane individual, prosper & eliminate bs toxic nonsense -both are healthy, love 💜

I just reread the beginning of this thread. There weren't a lot of videos posted back then, 13 years ago. One thing it mentioned was explaining why the song meant something to you. This is a remake of an 80s song. I really connect with the lyrics. Especially about taking the time to get to know someone before hooking up. I have definitely felt like a piece of meat in my life. If you read the two lies and one truth thread you'll understand why. I like the fact that this song is not about a 'quick hit'. Plus it's catchy as hell and tends to stick in my brain for days after I hear it.

This is one of those tracks where the music belies the meaning... Much like Mazzy Star's "Fade into You". The music in this is SO haunting and dripping in sensuality, but the lyrics are quite mournful. This version is by far the better, with the orchestral accompaniment. Also, anything with a theremin will have my heart.

... thankfully, no kids have been gunned down in present protests (although think Montreal might have shot one of theirs)...it's a crazy world not better but perhaps yielding better results than the 70's, in terms of the above.🙏
