Hi all,

I was interested in trying Sonata and Kratom. Will they still have the dangerous reaction that normal benzos and opiates would have? I could not find any information on the web about the combo and want to be safe.

Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you all.

^ Sonata is Zaleplon, a Z-drug.

Hi HogTies, welcome to bluelight :). Unlike some other sites we don't allow use of "SWIM" or any other silly self incrimination avoidance tactics like "my pet hamster" etc... They simply won't do anything and they make posts hard to read so I've edited your post.

I haven't taken kratom with sonata but I have taken it with ambien (a similar drug) several times. If you're looking for the sonata to replace a benzo it won't, at least not at moderate to high doses. Z-drugs at "recreational" doses tend to induce hallucinations of the delerium type. Some find it pleasant while others find tripping on Z-drugs downright terrifying.

The combo isn't going to kill you, but it might not be what your looking for. Low doses seem to add a pleasant sedation and perhaps even add to the kratom high though, at least it does for me with ambien. I would never actually take the combo if I didn't plan on going to sleep right after though. It's also important to point out that it's incredibly easy to black out on Z-drugs as well so be careful.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't clarify when I said normal, I meant the dangerous reaction, possible death if the doses are high enough. I no longer do benzos or opiates due to past experience in my life so I was wondering if the combination would be dangerous, like benzos and opiates.

Kratom is strange in that even high doses cause minimal respiratory depression (confirmed by many, not just my exp). Although mixing CNS depressants is never smart, I really think kratom needs to be in a seperate category than traditional opioids because mixing kratom with even high doses of benzos won't come near killing you. This combo is definitely safe as far as dangerous interactions go. Whether the same applies to other opioids that's another story.
