yeah I wouldn't know where to start but I intend to pick it up after my degree, is it physics you do/did? so you understand electronics? I know the basics of how a synth works but it would be so cool to make your own or mod existing ones
 
Am doing Physics at the moment but always loved dabbling with circuits (hate the theory side of electronics though it pisses me off, would rather use someone elses circuit).
Pretty confident I could assemble a synth given the parts and a schematic.
 
YES Blu is amazing and that latest one is just daft, you seen the other big Blu one?

this site was linked on EMD recently, well cool, has loads of sound and visual things like a recreated online 909 and cool synth pads and stuff %)
