Cristalena
Bluelighter
She walks the hallways of my mind
Sometimes she smiles
As if she knows
She’ll always be there
She keeps company with me now
Occasionally
Invariably
Emerging from momentary silence
To whisper numbers in my ear
Sometimes she cries
Because she knows she’ll never be closer to him
Than she once was
Often
Unmistakably
I catch a glimpse of how they used to be
And the little slivers of him she still cradles in her hands
Sometimes she screams
Because she’s scared I’ll take them
But, she won’t give them away
Silently
Loudly
I cry with her
Because I know she walks his mind as well
And she won’t allow him to free himself from her
Any more than I can
Sometimes she laughs
At the moments they shared that I did not
And the knowledge that she’s fixed
Indefinitely
Deeply
In both of our lives, minds and hearts
Sometimes she smiles
As if she knows
She’ll always be there
She keeps company with me now
Occasionally
Invariably
Emerging from momentary silence
To whisper numbers in my ear
Sometimes she cries
Because she knows she’ll never be closer to him
Than she once was
Often
Unmistakably
