i've done every old school drug except meth. i've never seen the appeal. someone once told me it makes you feel like you're tripping and drunk at the same time. no thanks. it's also such a dirty drug. the whole community is untrustworthy, crazy ass, trashy people - i'm just speaking in stereotypes here, i'm not trying to be offensive. i'm talking about common beliefs. people who've been on meth for a while are unmistakable. it causes delusions and psychosis and people believing, like really believing, in spirits and the devil in person and shadow people. no thanks. i already question my thinking enough. i can't understand the appeal. just look at someone ON meth. i live on a property with 2 meth addicts. there's junk all over the place they collect because they think it's worth something. the stuff sits in the yard until it's completely ruined. both of them take on ridiculously tedious and pointless tasks. they talk like idiots. look like idiots. and lose their entire personality. ...not to mention the hightened sexual feelings with leads to promiscuity, rape, diseases, super unwise decisions. i can't see how ANY of this is enjoyable or something anyone would want to experience, not even once.

This is an interesting case, RUC4. Not wanting to try meth is good, and not trying it is even better. Nobody needs that in their life and you're better off just passing it by.

But...

I'm curious as to why you have such a strongly negative view towards meth only.

So presumably you've taken amphetamine, heroin, cocaine, LSD, and of course, alcohol. You're not inherently against drug use.

i can't understand the appeal. just look at someone ON meth.

If you look at the most extreme users of any substance, you can get a similarly negative impression of most drugs. Heroin addicts don't exactly have a pretty lifestyle. Alcoholics are a car wreck (often literally). Cokeheads are a devious, fiendish mess. I'm talking about the extreme cases where the drug has completely taken over a person's life - none of them are good to look at.

I think there are probably far more people using meth than you realise. Many of them probably are not using it daily, and many of them probably have relatively 'normal' looking lives with jobs, hygiene, families, and so on. And it's the same for all the other drugs. If you conjure up an image in your mind of what a drug addict looks like, it'll be based on the worst cases rather than the average user or even the average addict.

Anyway, I'm definitely not trying to argue that you (or anyone else) should try meth, and I'm not defending meth. I just think it's interesting that you have this very powerful, negative view on meth only.

Methamphetamine caused me more damage than any other drug. I think it's wise to stay away. I was on the extreme end of the spectrum @Halif2 mentioned. It fucked my teeth (it didn't seem bad initially in that respect but it definitely caused more rapid tooth decay years down the line), caused me to have a massive psychosis and the anhedonia lasted for months post-use. It took me at least 7 months to get even remotely right in my head. Ime, it's not a drug to toy with and the neurotoxicity is off the charts.

i would say my negative view is possibly due to experiences with people in my life. all of the examples i've seen of users are extreme and chaotic and have changed that person into someone i don't recognize. and no, i have not done any amphetamines. maybe it's because i have a ton of natural energy. i hardly drink caffeine because it has such an impact on my heart and brain. it's probably a mix of these 2 things.
