Something I wrote - Critiques Requested

So like a drowning grasp at air,
I wrack my tongue for thee;
I’d entice from the page a phrase so pare,
Let her heart’s fluid locks befit this key.
The feted fruit which Eve once stole
And held for all to share,
Fell from Her hand and landed there,
And soon I saw my goal.
I dipped my pen in sweet red ink,
Blotted out some drivel;
The point drove with a knowing nod and wink,
Etching and scarring, though one day brittle.
Nourishment has my soul regained,
Bid me your nectar drink;
No sooner would this sin I think,
Than this white sheet be stained.
