as I ran to you, then ran away.
You remained
at a safe distance as I
drifted so close, then so
far away
as if there was some cord there
that kept us inextricably connected.
I was insane, you were patient,
then you cut the cord and let me
drift out into the sea of
Without You
to drown.
There was so much confusion
in the storm between us, the one
that set our end in stone.
One more dead friendship.
One step closer to being alone.
I'm half-inclined
to blame this thorn inside of me,
but this thorn is just
another contradictory, conflicting personality
within me that I'm
blind enough to perpetually
satisfy.
What could have been
if not for this?
Did we hide something back there
something I might have missed?

cut me off.
