why do people say that marijuana is worst for the lungs than tobacco? i am asthmatic and when i smoke marijuana it never affects my lungs but when i smoke tobacco my lungs feel very tight and uncomfortable. i don't understand this theory

In what respect? Cancer rates are lower for cannabis-only smokers than for tobacco smokers and even marginally lower than for people who smoke neither. Cannabis isn't radioactive like tobacco due to phosphate fertilizers used and doesn't cause other pulmonary problems like pulmonary obstructive disease.

It's long been known that for many it's a valuable treatment for asthma, far from making it worse for most. So in what respect do people say it's 'worse' for the lungs than tobacco?

Some would say that smoking anything is unhealthy, but if I had to choose between using both substances I would definitely choose cannabis. If you really don't want to smoke cannabis, invest in a vaporizer or eat it. If it's just an occasional thing smoking it would be perfectly fine. Mind you I'll probably get flamed for being 'biased' again lol

I think filters negate at least some of the problems caused by nicotine and few people bother using them for weed. I'd imagine unfiltered weed smoke is worse for you than filtered tobacco, but I have nothing to back that up with.

I really love cannabis so i just went straight out there and bought a decent vaporizer.
Cost me quite a bit of money, but I'd say it is definitely paying for itself, it does help conserve weed quite a lot.

People say alot of things, they say shit all day! Thing is how can you tell if they have any idea if they know what they are talking about? Cause id say most of the time, they dont!

There are all kinds of rumors, lies and misunderstandings out there about pot, LOADS OF THEM! But there is tons of resources out there for you to check and double check your info online.

There are plenty of threads on BL as well. Next time you want to double check the accuracy of a something you heard do a quick google search or use our search engine. There is no reason to start a new thread over everything you "hear".
