tonight my thoughts cut diamonds from sentiment
bending love in to a detached illumination
a switch being thrown
detonates the flowers of my old language
bores hollows through my fingertips
the new language is devoid of beauty
a language disinterested in
emotional whims
the ocean mimics the moon by moving on its own yes,
and the moon will always pull her strings
commanding the ocean to shrink and grow
but the ocean is only so much water
salted to ruin
and the moon
a revolving stone.
only drowning men romanticize the sea
only cowards cry after the moon
so much sentiment
deludes the mind
the truth should always cause you to choke
the truth
before you round it’s edges
before you dull its reflection
will always prove you to yourself
I am tired of not saying what I mean
I am tired of not saying what I see
I mean for these words to
crush the moon to powder
(stealing its beauty from you)
I see these words setting fire to the sea
(turning its beauty to truth)

I really like this.

I liked the idea of the moon pulling strings to cause the ebb and flow of the tide. Wonderfully written!

BAH this is one of the best poems I've read on Blulight and all you can say is "interesting" and "nice"!? Vocab, I don't reply much towards other people's works because they usually do not grab my whole attention and leave no real feeling inside me. This, however, kept me inside and moved my mind around. FABULOUS WRITING.

Thank you all for your kind remarks. It is nice getting feedback from people I don't know personally because it tends to be more honest than what a friend might say. I will post some more as soon as I find some time.

Please do post some more in the future.
Interesting is an appropriate word I think and was posted with much genuine respect and admiration.
Oh, and by the way, there are many written jems here among this digital archive.
So why not search around for some other great pieces that might also tug at your heart strings.
