many people say their high from lyrica lasts 1–4 hours, but it’s completely different for me. i often start in the afternoon and finish around midnight and go to sleep, and the whole time i’m high. maybe it’s because of redosing, but i tried almost not doing it — for example yesterday i took 1050 mg of lyrica, 150 mg of tramadol and a bit of vodka over two hours, but i didn’t sleep all night and slept for three hours in the morning, and i still feel the effects of lyrica (not as strong of course), and now it’s 5 pm. but usually after lyrica i sleep 13–15 hours, and the next day i feel like it’s the best day of my life — i feel really good, my mind is clear, and i want to do everything (i notice this difference a lot because in normal life i’m depressive and routine is hard for me). so my question is — are there people here who experience lyrica the same way? share your experience.

also i wanted to ask about side effects. i have an interesting side effect from lyrica that i haven’t seen anyone talk about. when i take more than ~700 mg, it becomes hard for me to pee, and it gets worse over time — to the point where i sit on the toilet for half an hour and can’t pee. i’m not sure how it works, but it seems like lyrica blocks something in the brain or nervous system. if you know about this, tell me. are there people who have the same? you can also share your rare or unusual side effects.

Old post - alcohol can actually keep you awake, or sleep less. Also, Tramadol (per what my doctor toll me once) can actually make peeing difficult. I have had that sitting on the toilet for a while scenario waiting to pee problem with Tramadol often. That is a very high dose Lyrica you indicated. Sometimes with Lyrica, less is more - especially since the body adapts very quickly to it. If the Lyrica alone keeps you having difficult urination, then that is one of those odd side effects that certain people can have. Everyone is different. I am the opposite; Lyrica helps me pee better, oddly enough. When I take Lyrica, I take about 400 mg at one dose around noon, no re-dosing, and that quirky half drunk/half hyper goodness lasts about 10 hours for me. Then I sleep very well for at least 5 hours. I don't know if re-dosing on Lyrica actually does anything or if just wastes the Lyrica. I have tried re-dosing but I don't think it impacted the feeling much. Others on here could talk more about that. I hate to lose any Lyrica that I do have, since it is a controlled substance in my country, though easily prescribed. So I stick to 400-500mg at one time.
