solvents for washing mdma -urgent

So, im in a hardware store right now, but they dont have 99% pure acetone or even naphta. I have found a few other dozen solvents and paint thinners. I was wondering if there was anything else I could buy to do the same thing an acetone wash would do. There is a thing called nitrodillutant, it contains n-buthyl acetate and toluene. Is that any good? There are also, like i have said tons of other solvents & shit. Help me out please.

It seems that 99% pure acetone isn't available in my country anymore. The guy told me they stopped producing it but that I could probably get it at a lab or something.

So since it's that hard to get, what other options do I have other than acetone?
 
I found my answer: diethyl ether, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate - these are all very good.

Pentane, hexane, hepane, and VM&P Naptha may also work too, but not as well.

I also found a chemical supply company which sells lab equipment & reagents & solvents and all sorts of pure chemical products. And they are in my city.

Only problem is I don't know if I can buy less than 20L of acetone, which is a shitload of acetone lmao.... I'm gonna be able to wash MDMA for the rest of my life with that much.
But at least I found some pure. There seems to be other chemical supply companies around here too. Might find a better deal.

cant use ipa unless you make it anhydrous. 99% ipa will dissolve a lot of the mdma because it absorbs water from the air. a mix of 50/50 acetone and dry ipa is the best way to wash it, if you cant make anhydrous ipa then just use ice cold acetone and vacuum filter. also, check auction sites for smaller amounts of acetone

What if I don't have a vacuum filter?

I was going to use a jar, put ice-cold acetone and MDMA in it, and let the acetone evaporate.
Or put the MDMA sludge I have in a coffee filter, and just pour acetone over it, then scrape off what's left on the coffee filter.

What's the best way to go about this?
 
sorry i didnt specify, ipa is isopropyl alcohol. dont use it unless you know how to make it anhydrous. also, ipa is better for recrystallization than for washing

you can use a coffee filter inside a strainer in front of a vacuum cleaner, careful not to let the filter get sucked up lol. and no, a wash is using the smallest amount of the coldest solvent. if you let the acetone evaporate, then the impurities are still in the mdma, along with any impurities from the acetone. also, acetone can dissolve a small amount of mdma, so use the least amount of the coldest acetone possible

put the mdma in the coffee filter in the strainer on top of a vacuum source, then use a pipette or oral syringe to "wash" the mdma crystals with the ice cold acetone. acetone evaporates so fast you dont have to worry about damaging your vacuum. it should be dry in seconds

or you can pick up a vacuum filter for cheap on amazon
 
Letting the acetone evaporate off doesn't do anything to wash the crystals. Think about it - if you had a mixture of marbles and salt and you wanted to purify it to just marbles, what would be left if you added a bunch of water and then let it evaporate? You'd still have marbles and salt. You have to pour in the acetone and then pour it over a filter. The marbles (your insoluble MDMA) will stay on the filter, and the salt (all your soluble impurities) will pour through the filter with the water (your acetone).

All of those non-polar solvents are good for a wash because they will dissolve the impurities, which are also non-polar, but leave behind the MDMA because it is a polar salt. I haven't used all of them, but I've used diethyl ether, IPA, and acetone. Acetone is particularly nice because it is cheap, abundant, and (in my country, anyway) very easy to buy. It also dries very, very quickly.

I just read somebody saying to let the acetone evaporate. I don't know why I thought that would work.

I actually sort of knew that wouldn't. But wasn't 100% sure.

Yeah a filter flask and buchner funnel and vacuum system and all that are nice, and make the process a little bit more efficient, but definitely not required.
