Solution of MDMA w/vodka turned yellow?

I've had about 480mg MDMA in 48ml vodka in a plastic, airtight, contact solution bottle for about 6 months and it is now a yellow-golden color. Not murky or anything, just a clear, dark yellow-gold color. Is this normal/okay?

Also its been tested with a marquis and it tested fine, black and bubbly and I had about 120mg from this batch at a festival ~3months ago with some 4-aco-dmt and I remember not getting that much out of it (It was yellow at that time too, not as dark though) but I was kinda depressed at the time and on other drugs so that could be why I didn't feel it.

So whadya guys think? Ever heard of this happening before?

I've heard of similar problem when storing methylone in water. It started turning yellow and it's potency seemed to have been reduced. I would imagine that you're having the same problem.
 
^Damnit. Do you know how much the potency was reduced? Thought MDMA was stable...
 
Yeah I mean it tested like fire when I first got it. Twas a white powder too not yellow. Doubt its contaminated since its been sitting in alcohol... hmm..
 
The fact that it turned yellow means there obviously was some sort of chemical reaction if your powder was white; whether the alcohol reacted with the MDMA, or whatever impurities may have been present, or whether the MDMA and the impurities reacted with eachother is the question at hand.

The lack of effect when you took the solution may indicate the MDMA underwent a chemical change.
 
And I though it was smart to dissolve it in alcohol... 8)

Well that sucks. I'll be trying ~150mg of this yellowness pretty soon so I'll update with how it went.
 
dissolving mdma in alchohol

I have a great amount of mdma and i have always wanted to have a bottle of fire. I want to dissolve mdma in a 1.75l bottle of liquor. I want 175mg of mdma in every 44ml shot. I will need to put 7 grams in there to have 40shots of 175mg mdma. My question is how easily will it dissolve and be spread out evenly (cant find the word) i dont want the bottom of the bottle to have 1g shots lol. My other question is will the potency be reduced and over time? Thanks guys
 
Combining MDMA and alcohol is dangerous for the user... Both dehydrate the user and can lead to over heating, which in some cases can land you in the hospital. I highly recommend using the two on separate occasions.
 
As this is a harm reduction forum i understand your response but can you answer any of my questions?

Edit: i just realized i will have to guard that bottle with my life lol
 
Why would you wanna pollute the clean and beautiful experience that is rolling with something like alcohol?
Just doesn't make any sense IMO.
But to answer your question....MDMA is water soluble, As is alcohol, so I would assume that means they would mix easily...as for the second question, I have no clue.
I urge you to reconsider wasting your MDMA.
 
Then ill just dig in my bag, i got it like that :) this is for a special occasion im sure the 40 shots will be gone in the weekend. I need to know if i would have to keep shaking the bottle before i pour or if it would be any less potent/ the absoption would be delayed or if it will pass my body unabsorbed

Edit: will it STAY dissolved evenly in the solvent or will i have to keep shaking it.
 
It should just dissolve away if its 100% pure, but potency will go down a lot faster than if you just had it in its stable form

if your going to do this (I wouldnt...) make sure you shake it before you serve to lessen the chances of getting a giant dose in one shot

Water is fine for short term. You just need the alcohol there for long term storage, on the scale of month+ , to prevent bacterial action.

Lovin the suggestions on type of alcohol although I think am too tempted by a McDizzle G&T...

Have had plenty of experience w/crystal MDMA, normally have a beer or 2 a la - anyhow gonna aim for a mega concentrated solution (dissolve 2/3 grams into 250ml or even less) - will do a test first, only thing is am worried about the even distribution - will defo shake before administration!

Will do 3:1 water alcohol also as have seen that this could help...

As mentioned, in solution it will be less stable than the pure compound. There was a thread recently where someone dissolved some MDMA into vodka and the solution turned yellow over time and a noticeable drop in potency occurred.

I don't think the 44ml shot of alcohol would cloud the experience much.

If you do do this, make sure you clearly label the bottle as a MDMA solution to prevent accidental dosing.
 
Yep it'd form a homogenous mixture, meaning theres no gram at the bottom, its spread evenly throughout. (Chemistry ftw!)

Also, I was the one with the yellow solution of vodka MDMA. I had it much more concentrated than you but it did turn yellowish and I *think* there was a little drop in potency. MDMA is a pretty stable molecule though, and alcohol is generally a good solvent to put things in, since it kills bacteria and whatnot.

If you do do it, let me know if it ever changes color! =D

I doubt that anyone has done something like this, and your MDMA is NOT 100% pure, so shaking it before each use would be a good idea.

But like Keaton said, just take the MDMA separately man. So much more worth it. You're just going to dull the experience.
