___So this time they broke the sun
Unharnessed all the light in his melodies
And told the truth about his rays
Blindsiding night's dark days
They uncovered some mistakes in
The way he outshines the hours
The unexplained rainshowers he
___Laughs upon the earth
And these chords he sings untrue
The beauty he describes in every sunlit hue
He illuminates with lies ---
___What would you do? When you know
The polarity you saw
Was the result of his shadows
Playing tricks upon the ground
His solar promises --- illusions! Each rose
___Only one dark hue
And all his yellows, reds and blues
Paintings on the bleak grey world
A child's hand imparting
Coloured dreams for you
___What would you do?
Now that they've unmasked
The reasons behind your smiles
Your life's reflected light?

___Would you crumble into night?
Would you repent all the colours of your universe
For a colony of lesser stars
Would you forget or would you cry for
The tricks your eyes no longer play
The difference between night and day
Shall you wrestle your falsetto senses
The crescendo in each photon ---
___Watch it die! Each golden lie
Would you let the night surround you
___Or would you simply close your eyes?

I love your work, it is so rich with detil and images that spark all sorts of emotions, you have matured in your writing and this piece is by far one of your best. Absolutely hooked from the first line.

Makes me think what the toll is to replace wonder with fact.

dastrix:facts oblique as stones; well wonder is the way your fingers tingle along all the pores of every rock and notes its colours, finds the smooth spots in the ridges, feels the weight of it in your hands; to ask what happens when you throw it rather than asking where it lands.
