Hi all, first off I'm new to the forum, been browsing a while but the main reason I registered was cos I wanted to find some information on a substance called Sodium metabisulfite.

It is contained in codeine/aspirin pills here in the U.K. There seems to be a lot of information on CWE's on the net but very little about this. It doesn't get filtered out with the cwe as it's water soluble so I was just wondering does anyone here know anything about how safe it is in large doses?

Thanks.

It's a preservative that finds use in e.g. winemaking, don't worry about it. It's present at trace levels.

Some people are really allergic to sulphites, if you are one of them (you'll know) don't be eating these pills.

Is there any cwe threads on here someone can direct me to? Search seems to bring nothing up.
